Marketing Consultant And Wife Break Legs Of Their 19-Year-Old Househelp

Afua Dansua. Inset: Simon Ebo Banson

Veteran actor Simon Ebo Banson, who played the role of John Dumelo’s father in the movie ‘Baby Thief’, has been dragged to court for reportedly using a red-hot iron on the body of a 19-year-old girl and also using a razor-sharp cutlass to cut her several times.

Ebo Banson and his wife, Josephine Hodo, reportedly connived to assault the poor 19-year-old teenager, their house help.

They lived with the girl at their Dansoman residence in Accra and at a point accused her of teaming up with some thieves to rob them of their valuables.

Though the young girl denied the allegation, Ebo Banson and his wife reported her to the Dansoman Police, where she was detained.

After her release, Ebo Banson and his wife were not satisfied so they locked her up in the toilet for days and assaulted her severely.

Banson, on 29th October, was reported to have dragged the girl from the toilet to his master bedroom, where he locked the door and used a board to hit her left leg till it got broken.

Not satisfied with the broken leg, Ebo Banson reportedly grabbed a razor-sharp machete and inflicted several cuts on the girl who was begging him and struggling for her life.

The following day, the victim’s brother, Akwasi Asiedu, was said to have visited the home of Ebo Banson to check on the sister but Ebo Banson would not have any of that as he reportedly pulled a gun on the guest and made him kneel from 12 noon to 12 midnight because he suspected the guest was part of the said robbery conspiracy.

When Akwasi Asiedu was finally released by Ebo Banson, he dashed to the police station to report the molestation and a team of policemen was dispatched to go with him to rescue the victim and get Ebo Banson arrested.

At the last court sitting, Ebo Banson and his wife, Josephine, were granted a GH¢20,000 and GH¢10,000 bail with one surety respectively.

They will reappear in court on December 7, 2011.
