Sulley Muntari joins AC Milan on loan

Getty Images AC Milan have confirmed the signing of Sulley Muntari on loan from city rivals Inter for the rest of the season.
The Ghanaian only made four Serie A appearances for the Nerazzurri this term but he will provide valuable cover for the Rossoneri, who have been hit by a midfield injury crisis
The Ghana international, who is currently on Africa Cup of Nations duty, has featured just four times in Serie A for the Nerazzurri this season but will provide valuable cover for the Rossoneri in midfield, with recent arrival Alexander Merkel ruled out for two months with a knee injury.

Inter signed Muntari from Portsmouth in 2008 for a fee of €14 million but the player has never come close to justifying his price tag and has been repeatedly linked with a move in recent months, with Napoli and Galatasaray both said to have been interested in signing the 27 year old.

However, it is Milan who have now pounced after seeing Merkel join Gennaro Gattuso and Alberto Aquilani on the sidelines.

Fred Nuamah Thrown Out Of His Home

Nuamah with Tonto Dike

A popular and ace move producer has been thrown out of his residence at Community 19, Lashibi, by his land lady whom he has been playing hide and seek with for some time now. Fred Nuamah, who according to information has refused to move out of the house though his term of occupancy had elapsed a year ago, did not want to pay his land lady, a situation which necessitated his ejection.

Fred was ejected on Friday at about 6:30am while he looked on helplessly and in total shock. His mattress, chairs, tables, drinking glasses and other belongings were thrown outside by personnel from the Osu District Court, including a police officer.

Information gathered by Daily Guide indicates that the landlady had futilely chased him for a whole year. Fred had managed to avoid her by parking his unregistered vehicle in front of his next door neigbour’s house to avoid being noticed. Fred’s house was also alleged to have been always under lock and key, even if he was at home, thus creating the impression he was not at home. His house was said to have housed several celebrities including Tonto Dike, John Dumelo, Kwesi Pee, who was virtually living with him in the house and popular TV host Naa Dede, who happens to be the one who helped him move his belongings into the house.

Fred, according to the source, went through a similar situation at Community 3 before moving to Community 19. According to information gathered by the Daily Guide, Fred rented the place for three years in 2008. The source said the landlady called him to inform him that his three-year rent agreement would be due in three months and told him to prepare to hand over the keys. Fred was said to have pleaded for an extra two years.

The source noted that he was initially asked to pay GH¢300 but he pleaded it was too much and was later allowed to stay based on an agreed amount between him and the landlady. When it was time for payment however, the producer deposited only six months rent into the landlady’s account, instead of the two years which was agreed on.

The landlady was said to have gone in search of him severally but never met him and was usually told he had travelled. Calls to reach him also proved futile as Fred never answered her calls. When the landlady finally met him at home, with a letter demanding that he moved out of the house, Fred allegedly threw the letter in her face. According to the source, after several attempts to get him out of the house failed, the landlady took the matter to court and letter was issued to Fred to vacate the house by January 13, 2012. Fred was said to have told the landlady that he would come to court with his lawyer to defend the case, but never showed up. When the landlady called Fred on the said date to inform him that she was coming for her keys, he told her that he was asleep and would call her later in the day but failed to do so.

Last Friday morning, however, the landlady went to the house around 5:30am and realized that the producer’s car was parked in front of his neigbours house.

The source indicated that court officials, including an officer, arrived at the house at about 6:00am to evict him. Fred was called by one of the court officials but he answered by saying that he was out of town and when asked why his light and airconditioners were on, he told the official he normally left them on when he travelled. The officials, including the landlady, however stood at the gate and kept knocking till Fred finally opened it. According to the source, the producer was so embarrassed that he could not watch as his belongings were being thrown out of the house and so he left. His belongings were put in a neighbours compound while a truck was later organized to finally carry all his belongings at about 1:40am the same day to an unknown destination.

Why Do Musical Groups Break Up?

Praye is the latest group to fall victim

It is common knowledge, even to the most casual consumer of popular music that musical groups don’t last forever and that the monster everyone refers to as ‘irreconcilable differences,’ always shows up whenever gifted people get together for a common cause.

Internationally-acclaimed groups like Destiny’s Child, TLC, Spice Girls, Commodores, Jackson 5, Wailers and many others broke up at various times for reasons that included huge falling outs, untimely deaths and over-dependence on drugs.

Here in Ghana, groups like Irene and Jane, Echo, Wutah, Klala and Praye have broken up in the recent past though not with the kind of acrimony associated with some breakups we know of elsewhere. All the same, some fans have been saddened and have even wondered why amicable terms could not be reached by the individuals involved to avoid the breakups.

Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), a broadcaster and artiste manager contended that groups will always break up because they are made up of individuals who, like in marriages, come together with already formed attitudes which manifest more vividly with time.

“ Some of the groups that have broken up here in recent times came together purposely for the Nescafe Africa Revelation (NAR) contest . They didn’t look beyond staying together after that but realized people liked what they were doing and decided to stick together,” said KOD who used to manage the Wutah duo of Kobby and Peevee that came to prominence through the 2004 NAR contest.

“I have realized it is not even money that often brings about the differences. It is more about work attitude. One is punctual at rehearsals and wants to work hard towards shows, the other is not of that frame of mind. You would book and pay for a studio for a recording session and one would be on time , the other would be missing. At least in Wutah’s case, that was what brought about the split.”

Klala was originally a trio but was reduced to F. Gee and Mantse Sole when Lyff Angels left. The duo that remained has also now gone apart. F Gee said they did not quarrel but came to an amiable agreement to work separately and that were still friends.

If Klala broke up peacefully, that does not seem to have been the case with Praye where Praye Tintin claimed he was literally thrown out by his two other friends. Kiki Banson of EKB Records who used to manage the group, told Showbiz he was surprised to learn that the trio could not see eye to eye anymore.

“They were three personalities with distinct contributions who seemed to be on the same wavelength. Obviously, things would not be the same without the third party. I even have a feeling that Praye now may not be as successful as when it worked as a trio unless the remaining two do something radically different from what the group was known for earlier. I stand for correction, anyway.“

Big egos wanting to dominate colleagues is sometimes a cause for breakups. KOD insists that since breaking up is not unique to any country but happens everywhere, the best thing artistes could do was to go off and pursue whatever they desired and regroup to work again.

“The Wutah guys had different styles that jelled nicely together as a group. When they separated, the idea was to come together again later but it seems that won’t happen now.”

Even siblings sometimes cannot stay together in a group. The Jackson 5 is the best example of that. People say the way of all flesh is to die at some point in time. Maybe the way of all musical groups is to break up at some point in time.

Actor Kofi Adjorlolo Accused of Attempted Rape

Kofi Adjorlolo

Veteran actor Kofi Adjorlolo is said to have taken a French leave during the shoot of a NAFTI movie project called ''Heavenly Realms'' produced by Optical Illusion Pictures Productions.

According to the beleaguered executive producer of the movie, Albert Kyei Barfuor, he had been informed by one actress named Gifty Temeng that while they spent one of their nights in their various rooms in the course of the shooting duration, Kofi Adjorlolo came to her room to sleep there which made her uncomfortable.

To cap it all, Kofi tried having sex with her as he even went naked but the lady was unyielding. It was because of the humiliation that would come after he had been reported by Gifty that caused him to leave the set, the producer had said.

In a separate chat with Gifty Temeng, she confirmed that Kofi Adjorlolo came to beg her to sleep in her room and that she wasn't comfortable with his movement, but she never told the executive producer that Kofi tried to rape or sleep with her.

"Kofi gave his room to his son Nelly and his girlfriend so he came to plead with me to allow him sleep in my room and though I wasn't comfortable, I don't remember telling anyone he tried to sleep with me, and I don't think Kofi leaving the set without completing the Job has anything to do with me " she said.

In our quest to get Kofi Adjorlolo to react to the allegation he switched off his phone after our first call went through.

Meanwhile, an official report has been made to FIPAG (Film Producer Association of Ghana) for misconduct. In a phone chat with Socrates Safo, he responded that since they made the report not too long ago, he has nothing to say about it till they will get Kofi Adjorlolo to respond to the issue.

15 Traders Shot Dead

At least 15 village traders were shot dead in northern Nigeria's Zamfara state as they returned from a market on Thursday night.

The local police commissioner told AFP that armed robbers waylaid the traders, who were travelling in an open truck, and opened fire. They burnt some of the bodies in the truck.

The agency reports that villagers said 100 people came out of the bush and stopped the truck.

The attackers' motive may be robbery.

The incident reportedly occurred close to the town of Birnin Magaji, several hundred kilometres west of Kano, where nearly 200 people were killed in a wave of gun and bomb attacks last week.

The BBC's Haruna Shehu Tangaza in the neighbouring state of Sokoto says the trouble may be linked to several incidents in the village of Lingyado in Zamfara state.

Earlier last year, vigilantes from Lingyado evicted a group of people from the village who they suspected of being behind a series of cattle and other robberies.

Those flushed out regrouped and attacked the village with heavy weaponry - including rocket-propelled grenades - a few months later, killing 26 villagers.

Some believe the attack on Thursday night has the hallmarks of the group as the traders from Birnin Magaji village were ambushed and set alight, our reporter says.

Ghana’s youngest director and musician, Kobi Rana, born Cornelius Phanthomas, threw a ‘Kelewele’ and sachet water party to mark his birthday at the Trade Fair site yesterday.

The party reportedly attracted a number of his friends who passed through to wish him well. It was strictly by invitation because it was intended to be a secret one, according to NEWS-ONE source. However, a few hours to the start of the party, some of his friends broadcasted it on BlackBerry.

It is not clear how old Kobi is but a source said, “I just know he is 25 and he has ‘Hotel Babylon’, ‘Love & Facebook’ and a classic movie coming soon.” Last year, Kobi celebrated his birthday at the Fox Trap nightclub in Kumasi.

Kwame Nkrumah’s Statue Unveiled In Addis Ababa

President John Evans Atta Mills at the weekend unveiled the statue of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President at the forecourt of the new African Union (AU) building in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

He was assisted by President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, out-going Chairman of the AU, and Dr Jean Ping, Chairman of the African Union Commission, moments after the building was inaugurated.

The building stands at the former site of Ethiopia’s maximum security prisons.

President Mills was the Guest of Honour at the ceremony, which was performed in the presence of a number of African leaders attending the 18th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the AU.

The ceremony was also attended by Professor Francis Nkrumah, a medical biologist and Madam Samia Nkrumah, Chairperson of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), children of Dr Nkrumah, who were invited by President Mills to the ceremony.

Also in attendance were former President Jerry John Rawlings, Mr Allan Kyerematen of the largest minority New Patriotic Party , Mrs Mary Chinery-Hesse, former Special Advisor to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Dr Don Arthur of the Office of the President, and Mr Kwesi Quartey, Ghana’s Ambassador to Ethiopia.

The unveiling of the statue was in recognition of the leaders of the 54-nation continental body of the leading role of Dr Nkrumah in the African liberation struggle.

Dr Nkrumah was also founding member of the Organisation of African Unity, now the AU, as well as the Pan Africanist Movement.

The brain behind the statue was Dr Don Arthur, who is also an architect and a sculptor. Work was done on it by Mamphey Developers in Accra, when the Government of Ghana insisted to the AU for the statue to be done in Ghana.

Cast in bronze, the 3.5 metre statue of Dr Nkrumah who was overthrown in a coup in 1966 depicts the late leader wearing a short sleeve shirt in an African design with a pair of trousers and shoes to match.

The first president of Ghana had raised his right hand with a short walking stick in the left hand, with the head raised and looking into the heavens.

Underneath the statue is the inscription: “Ethiopia shall stretch forth her hands unto God, Africa must unite,” a statement on the founding of the predecessor of the AU, the Organisation of African Unity in May 1963.

Shedding tears of joy, Prof Nkrumah told the Ghana News Agency that the unveiling of the statue was a significant honour to the memory of his father and his family.

He described the moment as historic, and said the family was very proud of the recognition given to their father, and proud of being a Ghanaian.

Samia, who said the representation of the family at the ceremony was fair, expressed happiness about the event, describing it as a restoration of the previous recognition given to Dr Nkrumah.

She however called for Africa’s emancipation to go beyond politics to the economic, stressing more intra African trade from the current 10 per cent.

Mr Kyerematen, described the event as historical and very symbolic and called for the review of the notes by people who do not acknowledge Nkrumah as a great African.

He said Nkrumah inspires vision and hope for Ghana and called for more commitment to the national cause as a people with one destiny.

Mrs Chinery -Hesse said the statue of Nkrumah was a symbolic continuation of the journey to free Africa.

She said the lesson that could be learned was for hard work, which would be recognised at the right time. Dr Don Arthur said the greatness of Nkrumah has led to the celebration, not only for himself, but also to Ghana, Africa and the rest of the world.

African leaders, had in 2009, accepted the proposal of President Mills to declare September 21, the birthday of Nkrumah as Founders Day.

Jeremie Is A Liar, She Is Not A Virgin…Says An Ex BF

After my post which looked at some of the loose claims of YFM presenter Jeremie, I got a phone call from a gentleman in Ghana…

Jeremie’s silly claim that her acquired foreign accent of no origin is REAL is not worth talking about. My little cousin even knows it is FAKE and we all know she has serious pronunciation issues.

On her claim of being a virgin, before I even got the phone call I had concluded that she was lying. Not simply because it is not possible to be a virgin at 27 but because it was coming from a person who can stand and say an obvious fake accent like hers is real.

If she can lie about something we all hear and know it is fake, then the probability that she will lie about something such as being a virgin which not many can determine is extremely high.

According to this gentleman who claims to be an ex boyfriend of attention seeking Jeremie, he cannot count the number of times they had sexual intercourse during their one and half year relationship.

” if Jeremie wants to lie about things, she can lie about her accent but to say she is a virgin is a cut on the face of people like me who have been in a relationship with her. I cannot even count the number of times we did it during our one and half year relationship. And when I met her, she was no way a virgin” the gentleman said…

As you may know, I hate people who hide behind the veil to make substantial claims about others. I asked the so called ex BF if I can mention his name (the name he gave me) and he answered no. His reason for not wanting his name to be out here is ” I am happily married and have a little girl, i do not want my new family to know I ever had a fling with Jeremie…” .

I wonder what is so embarrassing about Jeremie that he porbably does not want his lovely family to know he once banged her.

My 10 minutes phone conversation with this gentleman who claims to have ran through Jeremie’s project countless times ended on the note that, should Jeremie insists on her claim of being a virgin, we will have an audio interview on this subject….Does this even worth my space?

Anyway, if Jeremie is not a virgin as the gentleman claims (and I believe she is not) , why is she telling us that she is? Even if you are virgin, must we be told during an interview on TV?

Is it the new trend in town for celebrities to be making VIRGIN MARY claims? DELAY, 28 claims to be one and one Jeremie,27…I guess my mother is also a Virgin…

Raquel Explains Naked Vagi*a

Raquel

Rising Ghanaian superstar Raquel Ammah has said she simply does not care what type or style of clothes she puts on to public performances and also does not give a damn about reports that she showed her naked vagina during a performance in Accra last December.

NEWS-ONE recently reported that it had photographs of the naked hairy vagina of a very well-known Ghanaian female musician while she was performing on stage at the Accra International Conference Centre during the Christmas season.

Though the paper withheld the name of the said female musician, other media houses speculated a couple of names including that of Raquel’s.

However, when NEWS-ONE decided to publish the naked photographs to end the speculations, the paper came under pressure from civil society, various groups and leading individuals in society to back down on its decision.

Ransford Tetteh, President of the Ghana Journalists Association, Ambassador Kabral Blay-Amihere, Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC), the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), former National Women’s Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Daavi Ama, News Editor of Peace FM, Issa Monnie and Rev. Opambour Adarkwa Yiadom of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center were among several persons who pleaded with NEWS-ONE not to publish the said photographs.

Interestingly, Raquel’s attitude to the entire episode makes nonsense of the persons and groups who called for a ceasefire on further publications.

“[This whole thing] is funny; it’s just a big joke. I don’t pay any mind to it and I have fans out there that don’t pay mind to it. My only interest is my music and not what I wear or eat…There is never going to be a day where they are not going to say anything about a musician,” Raquel told Joy FM.

She added: “Nothing has changed, Raquel is still the same. I am still the same person. To my fans, there is no need to get offended because at the end of the day you are probably going to hear stuff about me every day but it is up to you to choose whether you believe it or you don’t believe it.”

Meanwhile, there is a raging debate on whether or not NEWS-ONE should still go ahead and publish the photographs.

The said female musician mounted the stage of the Accra International Conference Center, dressed to kill, in a very sexy evening wear, with entirely no panties beneath. No panties means no panties, underwear, no slacks, no beads, just her naked hairy vagina.

During her performance, she positioned herself in such a way that the paper’s cameras captured her sex organ which might also have been seen by a good section of the audience, especially those on the front row. It was quite sizeable, chubby, dark and hairy but appealing.

This is the second time NEWS-ONE’s cameras have captured a top Ghanaian female celebrity at a public event without underwear.

The first was at a press conference of an all-female concert that was held a few months ago and one of the artistes at the conference sat in a way that exposed her naked sex organ.

What is not yet certain is whether, in the latest case, the musician deliberately used her naked sex organ as part of her stagecraft or she was doing something else back stage which could not give her enough time to put on her panties.

Angela's Actor Boyfriend Mad Over Naked Breast

Jerry Botwe

The latest twist to the leaked naked photos of actress Angela Tabiri is that her actor boyfriend, Jerry Botwe, has denied being responsible for the leaked photographs.

After the photographs reached the media, Angela expressed shock and explained that they were private photographs she took with her boyfriend but the camera’s memory card got stolen and that was how the photos got leaked.

But her current boyfriend, Jerry, a fast rising actor, has denied ever taking nude photographs of Angela. “Those who know I am dating her are putting pressure on me and blaming me for taking the photographs but what they do not know is that Angela is not talking about me. She is talking about her ex and they broke up before I started going out with her. But because I am an actor and people know we are dating, they think I am the one she is talking about. It makes me sick because I can’t and won’t take the blame,” Jerry explained.

He added: “I have been a victim myself when during the shooting of ‘Sons of Satan’, I had to go naked for a scene and later the photos got published in the media. I know how it feels to wake up one day and see your nakedness in the newspapers but I am a guy and it did not hurt me as much as it would hurt a lady. I won’t do that to the one I love and people should understand when this happened - and stop dragging me in.”

Jerry and his boss Socrates Sarfo were recently in the news when they locked horns over the movie ‘Sons of Satan’. The naked hard buttocks of Jerry hit the screens in ‘Sons of Satan’, though the actor had vowed that he would never show his nakedness in a movie. News-One gathered that movie producer Socrates Sarfo, at the last minute, added a pornographic scene that showed the buttocks and sex organ of Jerry in ‘Sons of Satan’.

The added scene generated a nasty misunderstanding between Sarfo and Botwe, as it was quite pornographic in nature and showed the actor completely naked in a bathroom, with his manhood dangling between his thighs.

It also captures the actor with an erected male organ as he was throwing a towel around his neck. According to Socrates, after he did a critics screening of the movie, a couple of movie producers who spoke to him said it would not make economical sense if he did not add a little bit of nudity to the movie.

He said during the movie, there was a part Jerry had to strip naked to take his bath and all this was captured on film, with an understanding that the parts that showed his manhood would be edited. But because of the feedback from the critics screening, the agreement to edit Jerry’s nakedness could not hold.

Socrates, reports said, therefore went for re-editing and added the naked scene to the movie.

One of the technical persons in the editing room however hinted the actor about the development but when Jerry rushed to the studio to confront Socrates over the matter, the producer insisted he had paid the actor for the role and so there was nothing he could do about it.
News-One has also been informed that Socrates has released the movie with the naked scene unedited.

Man Has Sex With Sister

A 22 year-old driver, Kofi Mensah, who lives at Abaka in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese (AAK) District of the Central Region, has impregnated his 19-year-old biological sister, Ama Essumanba at Abaka. Essumanba, who is five months pregnant, has not had any antenatal treatment since she was impregnated.

Their mother, Adjoa Francisca, was staying in the same house with them but had to relocate when she was beaten up by the sibling lovers for advising them to put an end to the shameful act. Briefing Daily Guide on Wednesday, Madam Francisca said Essumanba, who lived in Liberia, returned home when she got pregnant a few years ago to have a son. Francisca was shocked when two of her children told her that their brother Mensah had been having sexual intercourse with the sister, a situation which compelled her to monitor them.

“Although, I advised my children who informed me about it not to tell anybody since it was a taboo, I monitored their movement and I caught them red-handed having sex,” she said. Mensah, who was ready to do everything possible to protect his relationship with his sister, threatened to kill his mother, if she did not leave their house.

In an interview with Essumanba at the house where she lives with her two-year-old son, she cried for more than five minutes before she could be consoled to speak to Daily Guide. She confirmed she was impregnated by her brother. Kofi Mensah, on the other hand, nearly insulted the Daily Guide when he was asked whether Francisca was his mother. He said: “go and report me to the police so they can come and arrest me, Francisca is my grandmother.”

4Syte's Jeremie: I am Still A Virgin

Jeremie Van-Garshong

Jeremie Van-Garshong of YFM and co-host of 4Syte TV, who will turn 28 in June, had made it public that she has never had any sexual intercourse in her life and that her virginity is still perfectly intact.

Jeremie is one of the few persons whose voices have won the hearts and minds of many people in Ghana, and she over the weekend made some interesting revelations about her personal life during a television interview with Delores Frimpong Manso on the Delay Talk Show.

Jeremie said she had never had sex and that she considered virginity as something that should be preserved, especially when she is the daughter of a Man of God and has strong Christian principles. She put to rest the long speculated controversy on whether or not she and her co-host Jay-Foley had dated were dating or would soon be dating. “Jay Foley is not my lover. You are not the first person asking this question but let me explain it to Ghana. People started to put us together because they often see us together.

We live in the same hood, we do radio and advertising people together, we work together for 4syte and we work together at YFM. “We have never dated or gone out. But we are very good friends and we do everything together. But seeing two people together all the time does not mean they are lovers…I am not dating and I am a virgin. It is something that you have to keep - I am a pastor’s daughter and I don’t play with God,” Jeremie noted.

Explaining why she had a foreign accent, Jeremie said it was because of the type of schools she attended and the fact that she stayed outside Ghana for a long time. `“I attended Morning Star and that was where I started school. So from the basic level, I was already speaking good English.

Then I continued to Aburi Girls and then I travelled outside the country. I went to France but I attended an international school there, Lycee George Clemenceau, so though the school was in France, our course content was in English so I was speaking English and that was where I picked it up,” Jeremie revealed.
She denied faking the accent or rehearsing before going on radio. “No I don’t pretend, I don’t fake it and I don’t rehearse it. When I seat behind the console, I flow naturally.”
Jeremie & Jay Foley

Jeremie also explained that though she wanted to study International Relations, she ended in Journalism by chance. “I started radio from Vibe FM.

I was sent there to do my attachment after journalism school and I was assigned as a receptionist but people started to ask questions to find out who I was because I guess I sounded nice.
“My boss came to me one day and said there was something about me so he wanted to put me on radio. Actually, it was not something that I really wanted to do because my aim was to do international relations and I would still do it. So there was a time the person who was asked to read the news did not report for work and I was asked to read it. It was like I should just read it and I was not given time to rehearse or anything…I read it and they said it was good. I stayed with Vibe FM for five to six years.
