Rawlingses To Form New Party – Kofi Adams

Spokesperson for the Rawlingses, Kofi Adams has given indications that the former first couple could be forming a new political party.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem Monday, Mr Adams - while not being emphatic about the formation of a new party based on the principles and ideologies of the Rawlingses - told show host Adakabre Frimpong Manso that: “Don’t be surprised if a new party is formed with the intention of salvaging an existing party.”

Political watchers who spoke to Adomonline.com say short of admitting that a new party was in the offing, Mr Adams had confirmed what many had suspected for a while.

He however dismissed speculation that Mr Rawlings and his wife were waiting for the demise of the NDC before forming a new party.

Kofi Adams pointed out that others who believe in the principles underlying the June 4 and 31st December revolutions could also be planning to form parties.

“When we get there we will see what happens. People have the right to form parties. If they are going through the proper processes to form a party, I will endorse it,” Kofi Adams declared.

He called on members of the governing National Democratic Congress(NDC) to brace themselves for a “shock” if the leadership of the party continues to ignore the real problems confronting them.

“If we continue to close our eyes over the bad things happening and pretend everything is fine, we will be shocked (in the December elections),” Mr Adams warned.

According to him, the party elders and executives complain bitterly in private but fail to express those concerns at meetings, a development he said was not helping the party.

Touching on recent developments in the NDC, Kofi Adams acknowledged that positive defiance as a new project for the party would be a good, but cautioned: “Don’t use positive defiance for evil.”

Few days ago, certain newspapers in Ghana and blogs went ‘GAGA’ on Mzbel (Nana Ekua Amoah) in relation to the above photo which was leaked. Some of us wondered, what the heck Mzbel was up to!

Last night, Mzbel used the social networking site -Facebook to explain to her fans and critics how the photo above got leaked and actual purpose for which it was taken for…

This is a sample of how the photo was suppose to be released... i granted an interview 4 Graphic Showbiz on "Changing of Image" which was published on May 2, 2012, i submitted my laptop for specific photos to be copied & Kofi Duah who had access to my laptop went through my private folders & copied photos which were meant for a skin cream commercial in it raw state.

He kept the photos to himself for a while & later decided to release it to his media colleagues as an exclusive & also to tarnish my image. We are definitely suing all those who published this picture in it raw state without my permission...

Buttocks Lightening Creams, The New ‘Craze In Town!

I am not sure if any of you have tried the new craze in town ‘Vag**a & Anal Lightening Creams’. If you have not tried it YET, have you heard about it?

Summer is at the corner (for those in Europe, America and other parts of the world) which means this is the time when many people pay special attention to their bodies and complexion.

During this season, getting browner becomes a goal for several dark skin women. It also becomes a must achieve aim for many white women who will go every extent to get their bodies tanned.

As a result of longstanding reasons such as our history and mentality, light skin has succeeded in being prized over dark skin. The high prize accorded to light skin-be it status, class, beauty, favor, etc has pushed many dark skin Africans into skin bleaching…

Despite how serious the repercussions of skin bleaching are, it is progressively gaining acceptance in our societies. However, the boundaries and what we are bleaching seem to be rapidly expanding.

Now, it is all about bleaching the ‘Vag*na and Anal’ areas. Have you asked yourself the very question baffling my mind? What is happening to us?

Why must we even think of bleaching these far hidden and sensitive areas of our bodies?

Who must bear the blame; those bleaching these areas of their bodies, or the many western companies manufacturing and strongly marketing these bleaching creams to us?

Wee Smokers Are Great Legends – King Ayisoba

King Ayisoba

Though Ghana’s statutes indicate that wee-smoking is illegal, many have speculated that its usage is common among musicians in the country.

Commonly referred to as “Ntampi”, “Ganja”, “Taaba” and “Master Weaver” among others, many have argued that those who condemn wee-smoking are ignorant of its medicinal values and King Ayisoba is an ardent believer of such claims.

In a video which is rumoured to be leaked version of Ayisoba’s latest VCD titled, “The King Ayisoba Story”, which is currently making rounds on various social media sites, the “king of Kologo’ music in Ghana is captured praising the medicinal prowess of “Ntampi”.

According to King Ayisoba, he gets ideas to create his music after smoking wee.

He said that even though he doesn’t like alcohol, he has been a wee smoker from his childhood days and has been smoking for over 25 years.

“I have never liked alcohol. Even if you see me taking alcohol, then it is pito or juice. But I have been smoking for a very long time. People say I no be somebody who can do something better because I smoke wee. But later dey see say I come hit but I smoke too. When I smoke wee, I take my guitar and get ideas. I see what is coming to happen to do my music. We smoke to create and do something better”, he said.

Justifying his reasons for smoking wee, King Ayisoba argues that most legends including Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah were all smokers including other influential people all over the world.

“If you see all the legends dey de smoke. Bob Marley, he is a legend but he smoke wee; if you see Culture, he is a legend but he smoke wee; if you see Fela, he is a legend but he smoke wee; if you see JJ Rawlings, he is a legend but he smoke, Kwame Nkurmah is a legend but he smoke wee too,” he added.

He noted that wee smoking gives people the right senses to do something better, remarking that “it is medicine for me”.

King Ayisoba argued that people who disregard wee smokers do not know how valuable wee is to the smoker.

“Taba also help me. Is medicine for me. It gives me idea. I didn’t smoke wee to do bad. So if you see somebody dey insult about the wee, wee is not fine, I think the person, he don’t know the inside,” he stated.

POTAG Calls Off Strike

The Polytechnic Teachers Association of Ghana (POTAG) has called off a three-week-old strike after an emergency congress on Friday.

The strike led to the closure of the Kumasi Polytechnic after three weeks of inactivity on campus.

POTAG members were demanding to be paid the revised salaries under the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) – a new pay policy for public service workers. The strike took a toll on students on various campuses.

Based on the resolution from the congress, POTAG members are expected to return to the lecture halls from Monday.

Prostitutes Invade Accra Mall!

Investigations by The Weekend Globe newspaper have exposed high-end prostitution in and around the Accra Mall, Ghana’s most celebrated shopping centre.

For years, the Kwame Nkrumah Circle and the Cantonments roundabout were the nation’s most notorious red light districts, where prostitutions competed fiercely for clients.

However, the arrival in 2008 of the Accra Mall, one of the most modern shopping malls in West Africa, appears to have effectively redirected male traffic from the two prostitution hubs to the Tetteh-Quarshie Interchange, The Weekend Globe’s investigations have revealed.

For the past several months, scores of well groomed, wear wearing, make-up inflicted, often gorgeous and young women have been idle walking in and around the Accra Mall area at night to hunt down well-to-do local men and expatriates with enough financial fire power to buy sexual pleasure. But, officials of the Mall will not comment on our findings.

Although not everyone of the seductively dressed young ladies trooping in or out of the Accra Mall is a commercial sex workers, The Weekend Globe’s investigations found that a huge proportion of the young girls who parade themselves on the corridors of the Mall and pavements around the area are prostitutes either waiting to be picked up by their clients or looking out for men seeking sexual adventure.

Workers and frequent visitors to the Mall say these difficult-to-resist ladies mostly ask for lifts around the exit and the parking lot area. Others flag down male-driven posh cars and advertise their services as soon as the driver winds down his side glass. Others, perhaps more confident in their charms or less certain in their leisure, loiter around in circles or find a conspicuous spot at the Mall where they sit chewing on a gum, while taking time to freshen up.

The Weekend Globe spoke randomly to 21 men who frequent the Mall during investigations and found that nearly 37 per cent of men had paid for sex within the past six months. Many were honest about the emotional drivers of their proclivity for paying for sex.

“I come here because I want something sensational and stress relieving,” said an expatriate worker who frequents the Mall to pick prostitutes. “It is pretty expensive. But the service is amazing.”

“It is a truism that a good number of the young ladies you see idling about are looking out for business – and I mean paid for sex,” said Kofi, a young business executive who goes to the Mall on Fridays to chat with friends. “We don’t know where these girls come from, but many speak very good English. Most of them are from our tertiary institutions or nearby hostels.”

But workers within the Mall say The Weekend Globe’s sample of 21 underreported their sexual encounters with commercial sex workers operating within and outside the Mall.

“The truth is it is rampant these days,” said a middle aged worker at the Accra Mall who wished not to be named. “They provide all kinds of every exotic sexual services and experiences, including body massages, to their clients.”

While some of the sex workers who operate around the Mall confessed their trade to The Weekend Globe, others denied being prostitutes.

“I am not waiting for anyone, I just came to hang out,” said Cynthia.

Dzifa said, “I just came to watch a movie, I come here every day to watch a movie, the Mall is [a] nice [place], so I come here.”

Other girls interviewed mostly said they were waiting for someone or were just relaxing there. Prostitution is illegal in Ghana, yet it seems to be popular among young Ghanaian ladies and nationals from other parts of West Africa.

Health Benefits of Watermelon

Watermelon

Watermelons are in season this time of the year, so don’t hesitate to pick up some as often as possible before they’re all gone. They are not only delicious but packed with vitamins C, great for boosting our immune systems. The benefits of watermelon don’t end there; here are some more benefits of watermelon.

Watermelon is not only delicious, but extremely healthy, as well. In fact, most melons are rich in potassium, a nutrient that may help control blood pressure, regulate heart beat, and possibly prevent strokes. The 2005 Dietary Guidelines state that a potassium-rich diet helps keep salt from raising blood pressure and may also reduce the risk of developing kidney stones and possibly age-related bone loss

Melons are also abundant in vitamin C, one arm of the now-famous disease-fighting antioxidant trio. Another arm that’s well represented is beta-carotene.

Researchers believe that beta-carotene and vitamin C are capable of preventing heart disease, cancer, and other chronic conditions. No matter which way you cut them, when it comes to nutrition, melons are number one.

Watermelon is a valuable source of lycopene, one of the carotenoids that have actually been studied in humans. Research indicates that lycopene is helpful in reducing the risk of prostate, breast, and endometrial cancers, as well as lung and colon cancer.

Whether you choose watermelons for their health benefits or simply for their good flavor, they can be an excellent snack, summer dish — or gardening project.

They are rich in Vitamin A, B and C. What’s more, they are low in calories and very nutritious.

It is an ideal health drink because it is 92 per cent water, and does not contain any fat or cholesterol. It also fills you up fast because of its water content. So have it along with your barbeque or grills as watermelons will prevent you from overeating.

SACK THEM...Minister Endorses Dismissal Of Nursing Students

Mr Alban Bagbin

The Minister of Health, Mr Alban Bagbin, has ordered heads of health training institutions to dismiss any nursing student who refuses to write mock examinations.

The mock exams are organised by schools to prepare the students for their final licensure examinationconducted by the Nurses and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Speaking at the annual selection and performance review meeting of health training institutions in Kumasi, Mr Bagbin said the health sector needed disciplined and dedicated staff, and would not countenance any form of indiscipline from the students.

“If any student resists taking mock examination, dismiss them. We will not tolerate any indiscipline,” Mr Bagbin said. “We will not pamper anybody.”

The Health Minister was reacting to a submission by Chairman of the Conference of Heads of Health Training Institutions (COHHETI), Mr James Yambor, about the refusal of some students to take the mock examinations. According to Mr Yambor, the mock examination was a way of reducing failures recorded by nursing students in their final examinations.

Last year, for instance, less than 40 per cent of the 3,223 nursing students who wrote the licensure examination passed to practise as nurses.

Out of the total figure, 1,254 candidates– representing 38.9 per cent – passed the exams. The remaining 1,969– representing 61.1 per cent– were referred to rewrite the August 2011 examination.

The students, who came from about 100 health training institutions in the country, undertook four programmes in Registered General Nursing, Registered Midwifery, Registered Community Nursing and Registered Mental Nursing.

Mr Yambor told The Finder in an interview that the students were part of the reason for the mass failure and steps, such as the mock examination, were some measures put in place to stem the tide of failure.

But some students refused to write the exams.

At the Koforidua Nursing and Midwifery Training School, only two out of the 135 regular final year students wrote the mock examination last year, according to Mrs Doreen Osae-Ayensu, the principal of the school.

Mr Alban Bagbin told the principals that government was doing its part to enhance quality training in the health training institutions, but urged the students and the training institutions to do their part of the bargain.

He catalogued a number of projects that were initiated since 2009 to address infrastructural deficits in schools. He also named 13 health training institutions that would benefit from the construction of new classroom facilities in order to enhance learning.

The projects, which he said would cost GH₵20.5million, would take off this year.

Mr Bagbin announced that the Ministry had initiated a National Research Programme for Health Training Institutions (NRPHTI), under which creative tutors would be awarded grants to enable them to conduct research, starting May, 2013.

The President of COHHETI, Mr James Yambor, was full of gratitude to government for prioritising the needs of health training institutions and the health sector in general.

He said the 250 vehicles, including bigger capacity buses, which were recently distributed to the training institutions, were not only helpful for administrative purposes, but they also made it possible and easier to transport students to various locations for clinicals and other learning purposes.

GFA Vice Prez Jordan Anagblah Is Dead

Sad news reaching kasapahene indicate that the Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Jordan Anagblah, has passed away into eternal glory.

He had been battling with illness after the 2012 Nations Cup in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.

Credited with leading the Black Satellites, Ghana's under-20 soccer team to Africa's first gold medal at the Fifa World Youth Tournament in Egypt in 2009, Mr Anagblah is said to have died Thursday dawn.

Mr Anagblah, who was also the Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association, also led the team to victory at the African Youth Tournament the same year in Rwanda.

Once an affirmed atheist, the GFA Veep, who claimed not to have been to church for over 40 years, gave his life to Christ and became a born-again Christian barely two months ago.

In an interview with Top Radio in May, Mr Anagblah revealed that he was declared dead for 72 hours by doctors but became a firm believer in Christ after an encounter with a stranger on his sickbed in South Africa.

He thus declared his intention to combine his commitments in football with evangelising about Jesus Christ.

"God healed me and right now I am very strong. There is no power mightier than that of God. I was declared dead but after 72 hours God healed me. I therefore give thanks to God for healing me...For over 40 years I had never gone to church, but during my illness in my room, someone came into my room, prayed with me and told me that I am healed. She was an old lady whom I never saw again, but I have not felt pains from that day. That is why I am now a born again Christian," he said in the interview with the Kokomlemle-based station.

Three Highway Robbers Arrested

The suspects: Ernest Amago Kudji (right), 32; Seth Kofi Tawiah Deno (middle), 31, and Kwame Add, 38

Three suspects have been identified as members of a gang of highway robbers who shot and killed a 48-year-old Warrant Officer of the Ghana Armed Forces and a civilian at Osubeto, near Nyame Bekyere along the Koforidua-Mamfe road.

The suspects, Ernest Amago Kudji, 32; Seth Kofi Tawiah Deno, 31, and Kwame Add, 38, were identified by 11 victims of the highway robbery at an identification parade at the Eastern Regional Police Command in Koforidua Wednesday.

The suspects were among eight men who were lined up for the victims and three policemen from the Akropong Police Division to identify.

According to the policemen from Akropong, the three were part of a gang of highway armed robbers who had exchanged fire with a police patrol team along the Mamfe-Koforidua road this year.

The suspects were allowed to stand in the identification parade, together with some workers at the Police Command, and most of the victims walked straight and pointed fingers at the suspects.

Two of the suspects, Kudji and Add, were arrested by a police patrol team from Koforidua about 9.30 p.m. on June 3, 2012 following a tip off by residents of Tinkong, a farming community also near Nyame Bekyere.

Deno was reportedly arrested in a nearby bush, with five mobile phones, by a combined team of armed policemen from Koforidua, Akropong and Accra who had rushed to the scene of the robbery on May 28, 2012.

Briefing graphic.com.gh, the Eastern Regional Crime Officer, Superintendent Edward Konyel, said the residents tipped off the police when they became suspicious of the behaviour of the three suspects in the area.

The parade attracted a large gathering of curious residents of Koforidua who went to the Eastern Regional Police Command to catch glimpses of the suspects.

On May 28, 2012, four highway robbers blocked a section of the Koforidua-Mamfe road at Osubeto, near Nyame Bekyere, and robbed passengers of a number of vehicles.

They allegedly shot Warrant Officer Class One Frederick Cudjoe Amoako and Obeng Owusu-Ansah, the Eastern Regional Co-ordinator of the National Board for Small-Scale Industries.

WOI Amoako, who was in military gear and sat in the front seat of an Accra-bound Nissan Hiace bus, and Owusu-Ansah, a well-known man in Koforidua who was driving his BMW X3 series vehicle, were both shot in the right eyes.

Owusu-Ansah is alleged to have challenged the armed robbers when they asked him to pull over.

The robbers are reported to have used firewood to block the road and succeeded in robbing three vehicles, including those being used by WOI Amoako and Owusu-Ansah, about 8 p.m.

When the Accra-bound Toyota Hiace, with registration number GN 2843 Z, arrived at the place where the road had been blocked, the robbers shot WOI Amoako in the right eye on seeing him in military uniform.

The driver of the bus, however, managed to drive through the road block and sped to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital where WOI Amoako was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police patrol team from Koforidua was tipped off about the incident and it rushed to the scene, where it found Owusu-Ansah dead in his BMW four-wheel drive vehicle.

The patrol team then called for reinforcement from Akropong and Accra and when they combed the bush, they arrested Deno.

The three were remanded by a Circuit Court in Koforidua to reappear on June 28, 2012.

Harry Redknapp Sacked As Tottenham Manager

Redknapp
Harry Redknapp has been sacked from his post as Tottenham manager, the club have confirmed.

Goal.com understands that he decision follows the irreconcilable breakdown of his relationship with chairman Daniel Levy.

The two parties are now discussing a compensation package after it became clear in a meeting on Wednesday with Redknapp and Paul Stretford, the agent appointed to negotiate a new contract for the 65-year-old, who had a year to run on his existing deal.

The boss' departure is likely to be explained as a mutual agreement between both parties but, ultimately, the decision was made by Levy after the former Portsmouth boss made it clear he felt his time was up but refused to resign.

"This is not a decision the Board and I have taken lightly," Levy stated on the club's official website.

"Harry arrived at the club at a time when his experience and approach was exactly what was needed. This decision in no way detracts from the excellent work Harry has done during his time with the club and I should like to thank him for his achievements and contribution.

"Harry will always be welcome at the Lane."

Redknapp added: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Spurs and am proud of my achievements. I have had a fantastic four years with the club - at times the football has been breathtaking.

"I am sad to be leaving but wish to thank the players, staff and fans for their terrific support during my time there."

Levy had made it clear that Redknapp would not be offered the three or four-year contract that he wanted after holding the manager responsible for Spurs' failure to achieve a place in next season's Champions League having thrown away a 10-point lead over rivals Arsenal.

The hierarchy at White Hart Lane felt that Redknapp had been distracted by speculation linking him with the England job and concerns were raised about his match preparation, training and tactics.

Redknapp, who was appointed Spurs manager when the Londoners were bottom of the table in October 2008, took the club to two fourth-placed finishes in three full seasons but had a prickly relationship with Levy throughout his time at White Hart Lane.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez and Everton boss David Moyes are expected to be the leading candidates to replace Redknapp. Brendan Rodgers, the new Liverpool manager, was previously the club's first choice candidate before he was appointed to the Anfield hotseat.

Redknapp was forced to deny rumours on Tuesday that he had quit Spurs but the decision was made for him by Levy, who is thought to have been particularly angered by Redknapp's public maneuvering for a new deal.

He had suggested that players would be unsettled if he was not offered a longer deal, having previously claimed that the squad would not be affected by speculation linking him with the England position.

Naked Mzbel

Mzbel

The God of Heaven has chosen sexy, saucy singer Mzbel and award-winning actor Majid Michel to become a prophetess and an Evangelist respectively.

This was revealed by Leader and Founder of Baidoo Gospel Church International, Nyame Akwaa Paemuka Senior, who said he had seen this in a vision from Jehovah God.

“I saw in a vision that I was in a very big church with a huge congregation and when it was time for preaching it was Majid who went forward.

He was dressed in an all-white suit and as he was preaching people were receiving their healing; the blind started seeing and the deaf started hearing. Cripples were leaving their wheel chairs and running forward.

“I asked God what that meant and He said Majid has been chosen and destined to become an Evangelist. God told me that the fame Majid has earned over the years would become a major tool through which he would spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ,” Paemuka Senior told NEWS-ONE in an interview on Tuesday.

The man of God said he was yet to disclose the vision to Majid in person because the actor was on location in Nigeria.

Majid & Mercy Johnson In a movie scene

Paemuka Senior said he had however told Mzbel of a vision he saw, to the effect that she would become a Prophetess very soon and be known as ‘Osofo Maame Akua’.

According to the pastor, he was on Adom FM’s evening program when he asked the Producer to call Mzbel on phone for him to inform her of her divine calling from God to become a Prophetess.

“Henceforth anyone who calls her Osofo Maame Akua or Osofo Maame Mzbel will be blessed but if you do not add Osofo Maame to her name, you would be cursed.

She may either marry a pastor and join him to do God’s work or she would eventually start her own church and become a Prophetess.

“When God speaks we must obey rather than attack the integrity of the prophets.

I have seen these things in a vision from God and it is my duty to bring them out and tell the whole world.

You better believe it and pray about it because what God told me about Kennedy Agyepong that he was bound to get into trouble had come to pass.

When I first said it, no one believed me. People called me an attention seeker,” Paemuka Senior stated.

He said the Baidoo Gospel Church International was based in Akomadan in the Offinso North district of the Ashanti Region.

Meanwhile Mzbel has declined to comment on the development and Majid was out of the country therefore could not be reached.

NDC Boy Nabbed For Fraud

Ernest Adjei Arhin, covering his face after he was arrested by the police

Thirty eight-year-old Ernest Adjei Arhin, a staunch member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who claims to be the special assistant to the District Chief Executive of the Kintampo South District in the Brong Ahafo Region, has been arrested after jumping bail for over five months.

A source from the Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command told DAILY GUIDE that Arhin, an alleged chainsaw operator, late last year allegedly took money from some Chinese investors to the tune of GH¢10,000 under the pretence of supplying them with timber logs.

The NDC boy was however arrested by the Brong Ahafo Regional Command after a report was made that he had refused to honour his promise to the Chinese businessmen in January 2012.

He was granted bail on January 26, 2012 but went into hiding after his bail and the man who stood as his surety, Raphael Cubagee, popularly known as Shamo Quaye, was subsequently arrested.

However, luck eluded Arhin when he was smoked out of his hideout at Jema in the Kintampo South District yesterday, Monday, June 11, 2012 upon a tip-off. Daily Guide’s source revealed that Arhin resisted arrest. He broke his handcuff, fought the policeman and took to his heels but onlookers helped in arresting him.

Sources from the Regional Police Command indicated that he was granted bail when some high ranking members of the NDC allegedly paid GH¢2000 to the police.

Speaking to Mr. Cubagee after the alleged con man was granted bail, he accused the police of using their outfit as a point of settling bills instead of taking matters brought to them to court.

When Daily Guide contacted the policeman handling the case, he said his superiors were not around to talk to the paper.

Mzbel

Sexy and controversial singer, Nana Akua Amoah known in showbiz circles as Mzbel has openly confessed that she has a crush on the Founder and leader of the International Central Gospel Church, (ICGC), Pastor Mensah Otabil.

According to Mzbel, who describes Pastor Otabil as ‘hot’ and charismatic, the preacher possesses all the qualities of what she calls a unique man of her choice.

She added that she would have willingly availed herself to be Pastor Otabil if only he was not married.

Mzbel was reacting to a prophecy by Prophet Joshua Awuah Kodon aka Odeefuor Pae Mu Ka that she would one day marry a man of God and become an ‘Osofo Maame.’

Prophet Kodon, who is the founder and General Overseer of Baiddo Gospel International Church at Akomadan in the Ashanti Region, Mzbel’s calling is to be the wife of a pastor and there is no room for bargaining adding that the sassy singer will have no choice than to heed to the call when the time comes.

Speaking on Adom FM’s drive time show, Ofie Kwanso, Mzbel revealed that this was not the first time she was receiving such a prophecy saying some pastors including award winning gospel artist, Cecilia Marfo had told her on several occasions that she would marry a pastor, while some have said that she would be an evangelist but she did not take them serious.

Pastor Mensah Otabil

She also disclosed that she had dated a man of God before and even though it did not work out she would reconsider marrying a pastor if it was worth it adding that she would want to marry a smart, good looking, and sexy man of God.

NDC Rally Flops

A rally organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) last Saturday at the Karikari Brobbey Park in the Ablekuma South Constituency to climax the party’s 20th anniversary celebration of the party’s formation has been described as a flop as it was boycotted by party bigwigs.

The Greater Accra regional rally, which was expected to be ‘gargantuan’, was poorly attended, with the kind of jubilations and displays by motor riders that normally characterized NDC rallies also missing.

Conspicuously missing were the party’s founder, Jerry John Rawlings, and his wife Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.

Also absent were President Atta Mills, who was touted as the guest speaker, and his vice, John Dramani Mahama.

Other bigwigs of the party including the national chairman, Dr. Kwabena Adjei and the general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia were also missing in action, contrary to announcement made on the airwaves.

When DAILY GUIDE got to the rally ground around 2:45pm, policemen and security operatives far outnumbered the supporters present.

However, most of the police and security men later left the Karikari Brobbey Park when it became clear that the president and his vice would not make it to the rally.

Sources said the NDC leaders stayed away because of the poor attendance to mark the ruling party’s 20th anniversary.

The organizers of the event did not explain to the disappointed supporters gathered at the rally or the media why the president, his vice and some bigwigs of the party were absent.

The absence of the Rawlingses, though not surprising, indicates that they will not be joining the campaign trail of the ruling NDC.

Many supporters who spoke to DAILY GUIDE expressed disappointment about the absence of the party founder Mr. Rawlings, President Mills and some of the bigwigs at the rally.

According to them, they could not understand why they did not attended the rally and nobody took the pains to explain it to them.

“The spirit backing the NDC is no more because we didn’t feel the party spirit at this rally today. Something must be done urgently,” the angry supporters added.

The disgruntled supporters expressed worry that the internal wrangling in the party could make the party lose the upcoming December 7 elections.

They therefore called on the party hierarchy, especially President Mills, to do whatever it could to bring the Rawlingses onboard to enable effective campaign.

Speaking on the theme, ‘Two Decades Of Unity, Stability And Development In Ghana’, Fritz Baffour, Member of Parliament for Ablekuma South, said 20 years was worth celebrating because of the successes the party had chalked.

He said the achievement of NDC over the past 20 years was unprecedented and hoped that the people of Ghana would vote for the party to govern the nation for another four years come December 7.

“We promised Ghanaians that we will bring development and create jobs for everyone and that is exactly what we have done under President Mills’ government”.

He urged the party executives and members to come together as one body and work towards winning the votes of the electorate.

Akufo-Addo Meets German Chancellor, Angela Merkel

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, on Monday honoured an invitation to meet the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Angela Merkel in Berlin, the German capital.

The NPP leader, who is currently in Berlin on a working visit, met with Chancellor Merkel, who is also the Chairperson of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), the NPP’s sister party in Germany.

The two political leaders met for half an hour and discussed a wide range of issues, with the centrepiece being the development of Ghana/ German bilateral relations.

They also discussed the importance of a peaceful election in Ghana to the country's stability and its greater ramifications to democracy and freedom in Africa.

Nana Akufo-Addo reiterated the NPP’s commitment to the peace and stability of Ghana and the country's democratic project, and the party's efforts to ensure a free, fair and transparent election this year.

The NPP leader assured Germany's leader that his party appreciates the mutual benefits in strengthening and building upon the bilateral relations between the two countries.

In line with his vision to transform the Ghanaian economy, Nana Akufo-Addo said he has taken particular interest in the German manufacturing model. Germany is the biggest industrial economy in Europe.

He said, an NPP government, under his leadership, would intensify the bilateral relations with priority interest in the area of manufacturing.

He said Ghana has a lot to learn from Germany and Ghana would be grateful for any assistance in that regard.

Also, in line with his programme to building a society of aspirations and opportunities for every Ghanaian, Nana Akufo-Addo told the German Chancellor that education and skills training for the youth were key policy priorities, and those are also areas that Ghana could learn greatly from Germany's experience. Germany is a world leader in vocational training and apprenticeship programmes for the youth, boasting a large and productive army of artisans ho have been driving the industrial machinery of the European country for at least the last two centuries.

The NPP leader also indicated to the Chancellor his keen interest in the German manufacturing model, skills training for artisans and apprenticeship programmes for the youth.

Chancellor Merkel was very positive in her response to the issues raised by Nana Akufo-Addo. She indicated Germany’s willingness to continue to cooperate with Ghana to help create the necessary growth and development for Ghana and her people.

The occasion also provided the opportunity to discuss African and international issues. Here, too, the Chancellor stated Germany’s willingness to act as a sincere partner for Africa in our continent's quest for lasting peace, democracy and development.

On Sunday, Nana Akufo-Addo met with Prof. Dr. Horst Kohler, former President of the Republic of Germany, who hosted Nana Addo and his delegation in the former's private residence in Berlin.

Former President Kohler expressed to Nana Addo his willingness to facilitate massive investment by the German business community in the Ghanaian economy to help create jobs and enhance the living standards of the Ghanaian people.

Nana Akufo-Addo’s delegation includes the NPP National Chairman, Mr Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey, Minority Spokesperson for Foreign Affairs and MP for Weija, Hon Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, NPP Director of International Affairs, Mr Charles Owiredu, and Press Secretary to Nana Akufo-Addo, Herbert Krapa.

Murder Suspect Arrested With Decomposed Head

Kweku Mensah, the alleged murderer. INSERT: Decomposed head of the deceased.

The Cape Coast Police Command has arrested Kweku Mensah, a 37-year old farmer and his sister Aba Kwaoba for the alleged murder of the late Nana Kojo Eguasia, Head of the Nsona Clan, whose headless body was found at his coconut farm.

Both are residents of Ekumfi Nakwa,in the Mfantseman Municipality,

DCOP Stephen Andoh-Kwofie, Central Regional Police Commander, said this on Monday during a press briefing in Cape Coast on Monday at the Regional Police Headquarter.

He said during police interrogation, Mensah admitted beheading the late Nana Kojo Eguasia when the deceased caught him red handed on his coconut farm stealing his coconuts.

DCOP Stephen Andoh-Kwofie said Nana Eguasia had suspected Mensah of stealing his farm produce and that on Wednesday May 30, 2012, the deceased went to his farm and caught Mensah stealing his coconuts.

He said this resulted in a fight which led to the death of Nana Eguasia and the burial of his head on the farm leaving the headless body near the spot where he had buried the head.

DCOP Andoh-Kwofie said the body was later seen and reported to the police who identified and retrieved the body sent it to the mortuary but could not find the head.

He explained that on Saturday June 9, the police got additional information that the cell phone of the deceased had been traced to a woman who was later identified to be Mensah’s sister.

He said with this information the police arrested Mensah who had gone into hiding after the murder and he later led the police to where he had buried the head.

DCOP Andoh-kwofie said after Mensah had committed the crime he went home with the deceased’s cell phone and narrated the incident to his sister who advised him to keep the issue secret.

He said Aba Kwaoba was also arrested because she concealed a crime and as such “she is equally a murderer and needed to be arrested”.

It would be recalled that on Friday June 8, there was media reports of the discovery of a headless body on a farm at a village in Central region which resulted in clashes between two communities at Ekumfi Nakwa in the Mfantseman Municipality leading to the death of two people.

‘Stop Paying Tithes’

No Tithes

The next time your pastor asks about tithes, drop in some food produce like yams, kontomire and plantain. Malachi 3:10 says, “Bring all the tithes into the STOREHOUSE, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of Heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

“We don’t put money in a storehouse, only food. Jesus himself also said in Luke 11:42, “But woe unto you, Pharisees! For ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs…”

The tithe is supposed to be a tenth portion of the food harvested by all households which is brought into the house of God or where he chooses for his children to have a feast unto him. It was also meant to be a sort of tax to help support church activities. This is clear in Deuteronomy 14: 22-23; “Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed that the field bringeth forth year by year. And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.”

When a household cannot carry all the foodstuffs to the feast venue, they sell the foodstuffs and then take the money to the feasting venue, where they purchase food and drinks and feast and rejoice for what God has done. The people were to take care of the priests’ food and drinks because they did not have any sources of income. This is clear in Deuteronomy 14:24, 27, “And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the LORD thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the LORD thy God hath blessed thee: Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose: And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.”

Today’s pastors say that if you don’t pay tithes you won’t prosper or God will bring poverty and other undesirables to your doorstep. Prosperity that comes from the Lord comes from obedience to His word. Joshua 1:7-8 “Only you be strong and very courageous, that you may do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.”

The Scripture that most preachers use is the one in Philippians 4:17 “Not that I seek or am eager for (your) gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account. “They use this to control and manipulate you into giving money. If you study the Scriptures in this chapter you will find that Paul was in jail. What did he need money for in jail? The things that were given were probably some provisions but not money as is taught.

Well, that puts the preachers, teachers, pastors, evangelists, prophets and apostles in a very dangerous situation. They should be feeding the poor and not taking from the poor! Billions and billions of GH cedis have gone into tithes but what do we have to show for all that except pastors living like Hellywood (Hollywood) stars. These pastors serving Mammon should remember Malachi 3:9 “You are cursed with the curse, for you are robbing Me, even this whole nation. One pastor remarked that his goal was to ride in a Toyota Land Cruiser and live in a grand mansion. Most members of his congregation live in poverty and put in the offering bowl more money than they can spare because they have been brainwashed into thinking they are sowing the seeds of prosperity or “breakthroughs.” This pastor takes the church officials to “camps” at ultra luxurious resorts but always claims the church needs money for this and that and takes at least 2 offerings at service. You will see a man who appears humble but as soon as he becomes a pastor, he comes into money, rides in flashy cars, etc. These pastors claim the items are gifts from church members. If they are real pastors they would distribute the items to church members who need them most. They are supposed to emulate Jesus Christ. I don’t think Jesus would be riding in flashy cars when members of his congregation are on the brink of starvation. Pastors of mega churches are more than multi-million dollar CEOs and businessmen. They own fleets of expensive cars and live in magnificent houses while members of their congregation go to church on foot and struggle to put food on the table for their families. The sad thing is that the church members are deceived into thinking that’s how things are supposed to be.

Henceforth, if your pastor asks for tithes, bring in foodstuffs. If he asks for money like the scores of pastors, he is a false prophet and run, not walk, out of such a church. Jesus warned us in Matthew 7:15, “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep‘s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” They use all kinds of emotional appeals, which compel you to give. They announce donations in church so people feel pressured to give more than the other person and it turns into a competition. They forget that Jesus has urged us to do alms in secret. Matthew 6:3-4, “But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.

Be sure to give alms to the right people. There are widows and orphans everywhere who need financial assistance. There are children who get sent home everyday because their parents cannot afford to pay school fees. Instead of giving money to a corrupt pastor to live lavishly, which will give you NO blessings, go to the headmistresses of the schools in your district and ask about children who have a hard time paying fees and help them out. Assist the delinquent child in your area in learning a trade so that he does not turn into an armed robber who will torment you later. Do things for the poor or whatever God places on your heart to do but NEVER pay a tithe to your pastor.

The whole message here is that many preachers preach on giving tithes to line their pockets, and not for you to get a blessing from God. If you pay your tithe to your pastor to live lavishly, you will not be blessed by God because you are not obeying his law on tithes. In addition, you are giving money to an evil man to help him continue in his sin.

God speaks to our hearts as to who, when, and how much to give. God doesn’t need a middleman by having them pass an offering plate round.

OFFERINGS AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, YES. TITHING, NO.

He who hath ears, let him hear.

"NPP Is Not Worth Dying For; They Abandoned Me" - Kennedy Agyapong

Kennedy Agyapong

Outspoken Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, is hugely disappointed in his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for abandoning him during trying times.

According to him, the party has treated him unfairly, abandoning him to fight his battle alone ever since he was charged with treason after allegedly making inflammatory statements inciting Ashantis against Gas and Ewes.

He was reacting to a statement by the Central Regional Minister, Ama Benyiwa-Doe, that Thursday’s ethnic clashes in Ekumfi Narkwa in the Mfantseman District was as a result of his (Agyapong's) infamous “war declaration” on Oman FM a couple of months ago.

Clashes ensued between Fante indigenes and the Ewe community in the area after a 60-year-old Fante man, Nana Eguase, was found beheaded along the beach.

Two Ewes were subsequently killed in reprisal attacks that left several people injured.

The former NDC National Women's Organiser had earlier stated on the Tema-based radio station that Fantes in the area were acting out the words of the Assin North MP, a claim Hon Agyapong vehemently denied.

The Kencity Media CEO recounted how he had to fight alone in court without the help or support of the party he has sacrificed for over the years.

"...even the people i call my friends in the party, people i fed and took care of has also abandoned me in difficult times," he added.

The embattled MP made it very clear that he is very peeved at the NPP for disowning him when he needed the party's support most.

He revealed that the decision by the party to disassocaite itself from his "tribal comments" was orchestrated by three leading members of the party; Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Oboshie Sai-Coffie and "that boy" Nana Akomea.

An embittered Kennedy Agyapong believed he was sacrificed on the altar of political expediency by "the so called elitist in NPP”.

Citing the massive support Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho has enjoyed within his party since his ‘reckless’ statement involving the purported dismissal of the Ashanti Regional Director of ECG over the floodlight malfunction at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during the Ghana-Lesotho World Cup qualifier, the NPP firebrand agian reiterated that the NPP is not worth dying for.

“This is the first interview I am granting expressing the way I’m peeved; expressing the way the NPP executives, especially, Gabby Otchere Darko and Oboshie Sai treated me. And the question any citizen, ordinary citizen, who is not even educated will ask [is] ‘was Ken Agyapong speaking for himself or speaking for the party?’...me he encounters Nana Akomea, he gets really amused because “that boy (Nana Akomea) was working for me. Go and ask Nana Akomea; when he finished university, he was working for me...I am cool but I am not scared of anybody...I am only quiet because already, NPP has taken a position and I don’t know how to defend anything so I will defend my case in court,” the Assin North MP said.

How social media helps, hurts couples

Digital services are cropping up for couples to have their own private social networks.

Facebook recently made headlines twice - first, when the company went public and again, when founder Mark Zuckerberg tied the knot. Although Facebook’s IPO was disappointing to those who had high expectations, we can hope at least that Zuckerberg’s marriage will soar, even if his stock did not.

One way the Zuckerbergs - and all couples - can help maintain a healthy connection with each other is to be cautious about the way they use Facebook and all social media, for that matter. As I’ve written before in this column, social networking tools can bring people together, but they can also pull couples apart. Think about it: You and your partner might be sitting next to each other on the couch or in bed, tapping away on your individual laptops, smart phones, or iPads, lost in a virtual world where flirting with a stranger, friend, or old flame is just a click away. In other words, you’re turning on social media—and maybe turning on to someone else, too—even as you tune each other out. From laptops, to smart phones, to tablets, today’s gadgets allow us to remain connected 24/7—yet that doesn’t necessarily mean that we are connected to our partner

There’s no doubt that Facebook and other types of social media can be a real threat to even the strongest relationships. I sometimes advise couples to avoid “friending” each other on social media because it saps a sense of mystery from the relationship. By dinner, you already know that your partner had a lousy day at work, ate a ham sandwich for lunch, and can’t wait for the season finale of Dancing With the Stars. What’s left to talk about? Plus, post some sweet nothings on your partner’s “wall” and you’re apt to get mocked by your friends - or at least make them uncomfortable with your public displays of virtual attention.

Luckily, a number of new digital services are aimed not at tearing couples apart, but at keeping them glued firmly together. Think of them as a Facebook built just for two, where you can lay on all the effusive displays of digital affection that you want, without judgment. Better yet, there’s no dealing with pesky exes, nosy family members, getting tagged in embarrassing photos, or a steady barrage of “friend” requests that get in the way of your most special friendship.

Consider Between, a digital service that describes itself as “an intimate space for two”. Created in South Korea (but available in the U.S. and other Western countries), Between stems from the idea that many people - and Asians in particular - are reluctant to share private memories with others, even their friends. Instead, the app allows couples to create photo albums, message boards for sweet (or saucy) notes, and instant messages, all of which are shared only with one’s partner. Users can build a one-to-one archive of materials including chat history and photo albums, and they can also share a “virtual memory box.” Since launching about six months ago in Korea, nearly 1 million people worldwide in relationships have signed on for the service (or about 500, 000 couples, since each user can only have one partner.) Although available in the United States as an app, the company plans to launch more officially in the US later this year.

Other programs like TwoSome and TwoCup offer similar functions, including a score of your relationship’s overall health, “coins” that you can cash in for real date nights, and shared calendars to help couples coordinate their schedules. And still other apps are geared to specific audiences: Kindu is aimed at helping couples explore their sexual fantasies, as is Sex Life. LoveDare is meant for Christian couples, and the amusingly named Girlfriend Keeper helps partners (okay, men) remember anniversaries and other important relationship dates.

While such apps might elicit some eye rolling, particularly from single people, I think they can be a positive addition to a couple’s relationship. Technology has changed the way we work, the way we communicate, and, yes, the way we interact with (or ignore) our romantic partners. Couples apps not only help us from becoming disconnected from each other, but they also offer us the chance to playfully reconnect - and that’s a benefit worth “liking.”

The Rules: Do's and Don'ts of online dating

Don’t friend your date... yet

Thanks to countless social networks and dating sites, Cupid’s arrow has been replaced by a wireless signal, bringing with it lots of new head-scratching predicaments.

Are you ready to open this cyber can of worms? Netiquette expert Julie Spira, author of The Rules of Netiquette and The Perils of Cyber-Dating, recommends ignoring friend requests from potential suitors until after you’ve established exclusivity.

“You won't want to be in his arms on Friday night, while he's posting photos with another woman on Saturday night,” cautions Spira. “Digital jealousy in the beginning of your relationship could actually destroy the possibilities of long-term love.”

The dating experts from HowAboutWe.com's "The Date Report" suggest treating a Facebook connection the same way you would a real-life relationship. "You've been on two or three dates with someone... Would now be the time to introduce this person to all of your friends? Your family? Maybe some exes? No way."

Clean up your Facebook profile
Before you friend your new man or that guy you met last Saturday night, you might want to take the time to do some digital housekeeping, says Spira. Delete anything on your Facebook wall that could be considered suggestive, offensive or otherwise hurt your love crusade, add "The Date Report" columnists.

Choose a good profile picture (obviously), untag or delete any unsavory photos and don’t whine! “Facebook complainers are a huge turn-off,” explain the dating site gurus. “Keep your rants, complaints and cryptic messages to yourself.”

Meet in the real world
“It can be tempting to get invested in email relationships because they feel safe and manageable,” explains Meghan Beresford from OkCupid.com, “but great conversations don't necessarily mean great chemistry.” Follow the "3-back-and-forths" rule, says "The Date Report" experts. After three rounds of email replies, you should ask him out on a real, live date.

Simply suggest drinks or invite him to be your plus-one at an upcoming event. “The worst they can say is ‘no’,” says Beresford, “and then you don't get to meet them, which is exactly what was going to happen if you didn’t mention it!”

Avoid relationship status limbo
Don’t be too quick on the draw when it comes to changing your Facebook relationship status. You need to make sure you and your partner are on the same digital page before broadcasting to your social circles that you’re "in a relationship,” says Beresford.

As for switching back to “single,” notify your ex about your profile update (if the breakup was mutual and amicable). Take note: Removing the “in a relationship” status from your profile will automatically delete it from his. And don't use the "end of a relationship" feature offered on the new Facebook Timeline layout, advise "The Date Report" experts.

To avoid the dilemma completely, consider setting your relationship status to private to avoid awkward comments or creepy “likes.” (Here's how: Go to your Facebook profile page, select "Edit Profile" or “About,” then edit "Friends and Family" from the left-hand menu and change your "Relationship Status" to "Select Relation." Save changes.)

Delete your dating profile
“If I’ve found someone I actually like then what’s the point of leaving my profile up?” asks a former (successful) online dater. "The Date Report" experts agree. Once you're in an exclusive relationship, your profile needs to come down.

Remaining active is disrespectful to your new mate and unfair to the digital love seekers who think you’re still available. Plus, it’s a necessary sign of commitment for some, adds Beresford. Don’t want to put all your eggs in one basket? Choose to deactivate your profile rather than terminate, so you can enter the dating game easily if things don't work out.

Know when to unfriend
If you don't want to completely X out your ex, Beresford recommends hiding their Facebook feed to ease the breakup blues. Do the same with their family and/or mutual friends to cut down on the number of ex-related updates.

"The Date Report" experts also point out that you may want to get in touch with your past love in the future, and re-friending him after an extended period of time could be awkward. So only unfriend an ex if the relationship ended badly, e.g. he cheated or stole from you.

Erase past relationships
Want your ex’s grinning mug gone from your digital life? Beresford suggests asking a friend to hit delete on your lovey-dovey couple pics to save you the heartache of reliving happier times. Of course, if your relationship ended on good terms, you might not need to do a total clean sweep.

If your current flame remains friends with his ex (and is still tagged in her photos), be confident in your new relationship and just ignore it, says Spira. “Letting him know that it upsets you will only make him realize that you're checking up on his digital past.”

Don’t be bitter over twitter
“I think it's funny that Twitter keeps suggesting me to follow Leonardo DiCaprio,” Bar Rafaeli recently tweeted. Take a lesson from the supermodel and resist the urge to subscribe to your ex’s tweets.

"You don't need to read the minutiae of his or her daily thoughts," says Chiara Atik of HowAboutWe.com. (Same rule applies to Foursquare.)

And, of course, remember to keep some perspective. “Changing my twitter name isn’t a top priority right now. sorry it bothers so many of u. should I not tweet until I do? does it really matter?,” wrote @mrskutcher, aka Demi Moore, in response to queries about her post-divorce handle. Ultimately Moore did change her handle to @justdemi -- when she was ready.

Don’t fight dirty
“The best thing to do when an ex starts talking smack online is to be the bigger person,” say "The Date Report" experts. They recommend turning on the “Tag Approval” feature (under Privacy Settings) to intercept any new photos or posts from your ex that may include you.

If you want to set the record straight, call, email or meet up with your mutual friends to clear the air. And "keep it classy," adds Beresford. Don't respond to his Facebook posts since that may provoke him. If his digs turn into threats and harassment, Beresford says to contact the proper authorities.

Pornography splits men's consciousness

Pornography affects us because sex is as much “in the head” as it is in the body. Pornography gives pleasure only because arousal can be triggered by imagination.

But pornography not only arouses, it tutors our imagination. What we repeatedly imagine shapes how we perceive ourselves and others. Philosopher Harry Brod gives good reason for concluding that pornography is a lousy tutor—especially for men.

Harry Brod is concerned with how pornography shapes male expectations. He observes that in pornography men are routinely depicted as “sexual acrobats endowed with oversized and overused organs” (see Pornography and the Alienation of Male Sexuality.”

Women in pornography are depicted as perpetually available and eager for sex. Pornography tutors men to have expectations that real women do not meet. Because real women are far more complicated than the eager women depicted in pornography, women fall short of the expectations created by pornography. Real sex can disappoint. One “solution” to disappointment is resort to fantasying about pornographic images during sex rather than focusing on their real-life partner.

But Brod is at least as concerned about pornography’s contribution to male performance anxiety. This performance anxiety creates “bifurcated consciousness.” Sex should be engrossing, but pornography encourages men to rate their performance during sex. And “How am I doing?” is a distancing and distracting question.

As Brod observes, “Relating to one’s body as a performance machine produces a split consciousness wherein part of one’s attention is watching the machine, looking for flaws in its performance, even while one is supposedly immersed in the midst of sensual pleasure. This produces a self-distancing self-consciousness which mechanizes sex and reduces pleasure.”

Ian Cook echo’s this concern in an article in the Journal of Men’s Studies. [“Western Heterosexual Masculinity, Anxiety, and Web Porn.”Proquest search.] Cook gives evidence that not a few internet porn sites “appear to intensify [male anxiety about sexual performance] by making it harder for men to prove that they are truly ‘man enough.’” Some men would rather avoid anxiety by replacing real sex with fantasy sex (See "Not Tonight Honey, I'm Logging In").

Brod’s points about the effect of pornography on what is “in the head” of male consumers raise both self-interested and ethical concerns. A man who allows his sexual consciousness to be shaped by pornography may be shortchanging himself and his sexual partner.

Being fully present within one’s sexuality during sex is an important aspect of being human. To undermine this capacity in one’s self fails to respect one’s own humanity. One also owes it to one’s sexual partner to be fully present to him or her during sexual intercourse. To have undermined one’s capacity to be fully present is disrespectful to one’s partner.

How men think when it comes to dating and sex

A lot of women worry about men only wanting one thing when they go on a date.

Here I want to break down a couple of facts about how men think when it comes to sex. Once you know where men are coming from, the whole dating game becomes much easier.

Fact no. 1 – If he’s on a date, he wants to have sex with you

For women the case is often different. Often a woman will go on a date with a man without having at all decided whether or not she will sleep with him.

But trust me, if a man asks you on a date you can rest assured he has 100% definitely thought about sleeping with you.

Whether he sees you as more than that of course all will depend on how you play it.

Fact no. 2 – You can judge his intentions by how he reacts to being denied sex

Though there aren’t any really hard rules about when you should sleep with a guy, I would generally advise refraining from having sex on the first date.

The reason is actually because denying him sex will give you a good indication of what his intentions are and how he sees you.

If he gets upset and stroppy with you, this should send alarm bells ringing.

Think about it: Why might a guy get angry when you tell him you want to wait another couple of dates before jumping into bed?

The answer is simple: it’s because he doesn’t plan on sticking around for very long!

So the rule is, never judge a man for just wanting to have sex with you. That’s human, and if he’s on a date with you it’s because he felt some initial sexual attraction.

What you judge him for is how he reacts if you tell him the first date is a bit too soon for you.

Fact no. 3 – But – Sex isn’t your power as a woman!

All this being said, you should never get wrapped up in the idea of using sex as your power with men.

Because once you see sex as the only card you can play, he’ll notice that and then guess what? Once he’s had sex with you he’ll feel like there’s nothing else to you.

This is why some men run away or lose interest after women give them sex. Because the woman made the whole focus of their dating a game of when they were going to have sex.

When it comes to understanding men, it’s similar to what’s called Cat-string theory: If you dangle a string above a cat it will go crazy to get it, but once you drop the string and let the cat have it, it won’t be bothered anymore.

This is the exact same thing with men and sex.

If you use sex as your bait, don’t be surprised if that’s all he wants you for!

I didn’t have sex with Keitta in the Big Brother house - Eazzy

Keitta and Eazzy
Evicted Ghanaian Big Brother StarGame housemate Mildred Ashong popularly called Eazzy in showbiz circles has vehemently denied having sex with his boyfriend and colleague housemate Keitta in the reality show.

Her comments sought to discredit a video in circulation on the internet in which the pair appear to be making love on live television.

In an exclusive interview with Joy Entertainment News the Gogowind hit singer described the video as fake.

Eazzy said “me and my partner made a pledge not to have sex in the house and we kept that promise till date. We didn’t have sex in the house but we did have a lot of romantic times I must say."

"There were times we made out under sheets like crazy making out. You know the kind of making out where you have your man on you and he is moving so you feel him" the 26-year old musician added.

“I was so afraid of that Big Brother man, you can’t tell where his cameras are, even when the room is totally dark and you can’t see, everybody outside watching on TV can see you, so I was never naked in the Big Brother house neither was Keitta and if there is anything out there, we were totally having a romantic time ,we were making out which normal couples do, Come on guys, at least if we were not doing it, let’s enjoy small”

Eazzy is expected back home after she was evicted from the Big Brother Stargame last Sunday even though she refused to come on stage because she was denied a Brazilian wig.

The singer explained that her actions were as a result of the emotional pain she was going through knowing that her boyfriend is been kept in the game while she departs.

Though she was up for eviction together with his boyfriend and partner Keita, Eazzy was kicked out with Edith and Eve from Botswana.

I am Called God....I've Not Regretted Sleeping With My Pastors Wife – Bishop Obinim

Obinim

Man of God Bishop Daniel Obinim of the International God’s Way Church has said his followers actually see him as Jehovah God Himself, the ‘I Am that I Am’ and that most of them actually refer to him as God while a few see him as an Angel.

Bishop Obinim said his teeming following never doubted his divinity because of the signs and wonders that accompanied his preaching.

According to him, his congregation only started to accept his ephemeral humanity when they heard of his illicit and amorous relationship with the wife of a junior pastor in the church. He boasted that until that blot on his hitherto untainted ecclesiastical calling, his church members thought he belonged elsewhere but certainly not this earth.

Bishop Obinim made the disclosure on TV3 last Saturday when he appeared on the comeback Delay talk show, hosted by Delores Frimpong Manso.

The unrepentant Obinim told Delores that he had not regretted having sex with the wife of his junior pastor because that incident had turned to be a bigger blessing in his life and Christian ministry.

The Christian leader confessed that he flirted with the married woman for two years. He however insisted it was the woman who ingratiated herself with him.

The flauntist preacher claimed that when he wanted to end the adulterous relationship, she refused and begged him to make her his second wife.

Speaking about his wealth, Bishop Obinim, inching towards 34, described himself as a wealthy person with four cars and two houses even when he was just 22 years old.

The bishop said many of the negative stories about him in the media were actuated by envy. But he was not disturbed about such stories because the number of persons who celebrated him was more than those who disdained him.

The materialist Obinim claimed that he acquired most of his cash and property through gifts from persons he had prayed for who had “received their miracles.”

Making a case for his position, he said he recently received a cash amount of two hundred million cedis from a church member whose sterility was overcome after he (Obinim) had prayed for the man’s wife to deliver.
