Deputy Ministers’ List Pops Up

President John Dramani Mahama is set to release the list of nominees to serve in his government as Deputy Ministers, in the next couple of days.

Among the list of names that 'Daily Guide' has stumbled upon include that of hard-talking member of the communications team of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

He is the son of Chairman of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Kofi Totobi Kwakye, a former National Security Coordinator in the Jerry Rawlings PNDC government.

Kwakye-Ofosu is said to have been penciled for the position of Deputy Information Minister.

If nominated and subsequently approved by Parliament, Felix Kwakye Owusu would replace Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who currently occupies the position, with Mahama Ayariga as the substantive Minister.

Also tipped for appointment are the Member of Parliament (MP) for Builsa North, James Agalga, who has been penciled for the position of Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports while his colleague MP for Nanton, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, is said to be likely to be nominated as Deputy Minister of Transport.

Kwame Awuah Darko, who contested but lost the parliamentary seat for Ayawaso-West-Wuogon to Emmanuel Agyarko, has been tipped for Deputy Minister of Agric.

The name of James Agyenim-Boateng has also popped up as likely to be nominated for the position of Deputy Minister of Tourism whilst another new entrant to the House and MP for Ledzokuku, Benita Sena Okiti Dua, has been tipped to be nominated to deputize controversial Nana Oye-Lithur at the Ministry of Children, Gender and Social Protection.

In the unlikely event that Felix Kwakye Ofosu is not nominated, he is said to be seriously considering the option of contesting in the upcoming congress of the NDC for the position of National Propaganda Secretary, a title which is currently being held by Richard Quashigah.

It is however not clear if President Mahama would bow to pressures from within the party to drop some names.

However, a source at the presidency told Daily Guide that the President insists on being given a free hand to nominate his choice of Deputy Ministers as he did in appointing his substantive Ministers.

Alhaji Gruzah, Osei Kuffour To Lead Talks For Ayews Return

Alhaji Grunsah

King Faisal President Alhaji Karim Gruzah will be embarking on a personal initiative to have the Ayew brothers rescind their decision to retire from the Black Stars.

The Olympique Marseille duo, Andre and Jordan, slapped in letters on Tuesday to prematurely call time on their international career.

The shocking move by the sons of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has split opinions amongst fans of the four-time African champions.

While others believe their decision ought to be respected and be left alone, others insist their return is crucial for the success of the Black Stars in upcoming assignments.

Alhaji Gruzah who is a long-standing friend of the Ayew family, aided by ex Ghana international Samuel Osei-Kuffour and Mighty Jets owner Abu Sodonko (all friends of the family) will however hold discussions with the celebrity family to trash out the concerns raised by the two players.

“If God permits, myself, Samuel Osei-Kuffour and Abu of Mighty Jets will be going to discuss the issues towards reconciliation,” Gruzah told Kumasi-based Fox FM. “We want a quick resolution to this issue in the interest of Ghana.”

Both players were not part of the Ghana squad that finished a disappointing fourth at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.

Ronaldo "Killed" Barcelona's Dream in Copa Del Rey

Madrid Players celebrating a goal

Real Madrid stormed into the Copa Del Rey final in the most stunning manner possible, with an emphatic 3-1 victory over Barcelona at Camp Nou in the second leg of their last-four clash on Tuesday.

With a 1-1 home draw to overcome from the first leg, Jose Mourinho looked on in jubilation as his team executed their gameplan to perfection, frustrating the Catalans at the back, and through an inspirational Cristiano Ronaldo, giving a counterattacking clinic up front.

The Portuguese opened the scoring from the penalty spot 12 minutes in, becoming the first player to score in six successive Clasicos away from home, and finished off a surging break shortly before the hour mark to put Madrid in the driving seat.

Raphael Varane put the finishing touches on an unbelievable night for the visitors when he headed home a corner, with Jordi Alba's late goal coming as little consolation for the hosts, as los Blancos now await either Sevilla or Atletico Madrid in the showpiece event on May 18.

Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas and Xavi returned to start in midfield for the hosts, with Carles Puyol partnering Gerard Pique in defence. For Madrid, Varane, the standout performer from the first leg, started alongside Sergio Ramos at centre back.

Barca started positively, and with only two minutes on the clock, were nearly ahead. Pedro did brilliantly to turn Fabio Coentrao inside out and square for Lionel Messi, who narrowly missed the target from a tight angle.

But instead, it would be Madrid who would take the lead.Ronaldo was simply too quick for Pique, and was tripped up inside the area, leaving the referee with no choice but to award a penalty, from which the Portuguese forward slotted coolly into the bottom corner.

The Catalans exhibited their customary dominance of the ball, but Mourinho’s men were ready with discipline and numbers at the back, and a pacey threat on the counter whenever they won the ball.

Referee Alberto Undiano‎, already the villain of the piece in the eyes of the Camp Nou faithful for the decision against Pique, was showered with further venom from the stands after correctly denying penalty appeals for Fabregas and Pedro.

And the home fans were left frustrated again moments before half time, when Messi drilled a free kick agonizingly into the side netting, with half of the stadium already celebrating a goal.

The Blaugrana went close again minutes after the restart when Diego Lopez parried an effort by Busquets, with Alvaro Arbeloa taking the rebound off the toes of Fabregas from point blank range.

But much like the start of the first half, the chance was spurned, and again, Madrid would punish their profligacy on the counterattack, this time putting the tie virtually out of reach.

Sami Khedira’s sublime first-time pass after winning the ball released Angel Di Maria against Puyol. The Barca captain was left on his backside by the skill of the winger, whose initial shot was parried by Jose Pinto, only for Ronaldo to bury the rebound.

And with 22 minutes left, Madrid were in dreamland again, when Varane rose highest to head home Mesut Ozil’s corner in almost identical fashion to his goal in the first leg.

Flares were set off in the stands as a few home fans lost patience with events on the ptich, but their mood improved ever so slightly just before injury time when Alba ghosted in behind the fullback to slot Andres Iniesta's clipped pass beyond Lopez.

But the damage was long done by the irrepressible visitors, who will now contest the final in three months. The Clasico drama is not quite done, however, as both sides will lock horns at Santiago Bernabeu in la Liga on Saturday.

Andre, Jordan Ayew retire temporarily from Black Stars

Jordan Ayew(L) and Andre Ayew(M)with their father Abedi Ayew Pele(R)

Footy-ghana.com understands that Olympique Marseille duo Andre and Jordan Ayew have temporarily withdrawn their services from the senior national team, the Black Stars.

According to our sources, a letter on their behalf was presented to the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association earlier today.

It is unclear as to why the two brothers are taking a break, but perhaps it is in reaction to being axed by Black Stars head coach Kwasi Appiah from the 2013 African Nations Cup squad.

Jordan Ayew was excluded from the provisional squad whilst Andre was axed because he could not meet Appiah’s deadline to report to the team’s training camp in Abu Dhabi.

XCLUSIV FOTOS: “My Breast Keeps Growing Bigger” – Diamond

Diamond Appiah and her growing breast

Singer Diamond Appiah known simply as Diamond came hot on stage last Friday February 15 at the National Theatre during the maiden Ghana DJ Awards.

Diamond who was one of the artistes billed to perform on the night stepped on stage and left jaws widely opened in the audience as she appeared in a very revealing costume.

The “Taste my apple” singer got everybody’s attention from her opening free style rap act to the end of her performance. Diamond who is naturally busty exposed her breast like never before and as she was dancing and jumping up and down with her dancers, it was as though the breast was going to fall from the dress, but the singer surely knows how to hold her stuff tight.

Diamond was excited after her performance because of the response she had from the audience and she spoke to Peacefmonline Entertainment backstage. She said people were so fascinated by her freestyle because they didn't know that she could even rap “I am more of a Rapper than a Singer and Ghanaians will see more of that versatility this year”.

When she was asked why she chose to come on stage in such revealing outfit she said, “As an artiste I have to represent my brand in a unique way that makes me stand out from the rest of the females artistes so I chose that costume because I wanted to bring something hot and banging to the show”.

Asked about her breast exposure on stage, Diamond didn't seem to be too worried about it “Well if I have been blessed with a beautiful body, then there is nothing wrong in flaunting it”, she told Peacefmonline Entertainment.

Commenting on the size of her “diamondicious” breast the singer revealed that they keep getting bigger. “Anytime my stylist measures my bust she says my breast keeps growing bigger but it’s all good because some women pay to have silicone implant so if God has blessed me with it for free, then am grateful”.

Diamond who doubles up as an actress isn't far from becoming Ghana's trendy 'fashionista' with a wild taste for smoky fashion!

No More Sex For Me...I Don't Even Remember It - Actress

Patience Ozokwor & daughter
"I don’t even remember sex. I have the right to remarry but I don’t want to. So, why think about it. It is when you set your mind at it that you begin to desire it. I have erased it from my mind.

When I see young people in love calling themselves ‘honey’, I just ignore it and move on. I don’t even remember sex because God has made me to be very busy.

I am attending one function or the other. Even if I am in a relationship with a man, the man won`t feel much of me because I am very busy. Look at some young girls who are married, they don’t give enough time to their families, how much less an old woman like me.

By God`s grace I am very busy. You can’t even bring it, once you bring it I cut you off" - Patience Ozorkor

President Denies Offering Former NPP MP Appointment...He Told A "Naked Lie"

P.C Appiah Ofori
Presidential Spokesperson John Jinapor has denied that President Mahama ever offered anti-corruption campaigner PC Appiah Ofori any ministerial appointment as claimed by the former Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Legislator.

Mr Jinapor claims the assertions by the former legislator are "naked lies".

The former NPP MP had claimed in an interview with the Daily Guide Newspaper that he turned down the President’s offer to make him a minister in his administration a few weeks after he had taken office.

He also claimed the President subsequently offered to appoint him as an Ambassador but he rejected that as well.

But in an apparent reaction to the story, John Jinapor, writing on his facebook page on Monday February 18, 2013, denied the claim and rather admonished the anti-graft campaigner to learn to speak the truth at all times, no matter the repercussions.

"His Excellency President John Mahama has at no point/time offered Mr. P.C Appiah Ofori any ministerial appointment, left alone to champion anti-corruption administration in his government. As politicians we must speak learn to speak the truth at all times, no matter the consequences and endeavour to desist from such blatant cum naked lies," John Jinapor wrote.

KSM Entertain President Mahama, First Lady Others With ‘Secrets of GH Girls- Reload’

President Mahama, First Lady Lordina Mahama with other government officials the the event

The King of Satire, Kwaku Sintim Misa, did not disappoint his audience on Vals day as he thrilled them to 90 minutes of uncontrollable laughter.

The “Secrets of GH Girls Reloaded” was truly extended and reloaded as compared to the first one he staged last year on Christmas Day. Not even the President, H.E John Dramani Mahama and his wife Lordina Mahama could hold back their laughter.

In his introductory remarks, KSM made every man pledge allegiance to the fact that they would not take whatever secret that he was going to expose about their wives or fiancés personal since he does not want to be the ‘breaker’ of relationships especially on Vals Day.

This time around, KSM brought a “Hair Detector Flash Light” to stage which he said had the capacity to detect which ladies were wearing the original hair as well as those who were wearing the fake ones. According to KSM, the original hairs are very smooth and soft whereas the fake ones feel very rough like ‘sandpaper’ when touched. He said his ‘Hair Detector Flash Light’ will only light when it is tested with the original hair to signify that the hair or wig is original but not synthetic.

Whereas the men were urging the King of Comedy to go on when he said he was coming down from the stage to carry out his “scientific experiment” for the first time, most of the ladies in the National Theatre auditorium started screaming and shouting at him not to do so. From the magnitude of their shouts and screams, it was clear they would have run helter-skelter if they were not glued to their seats in the auditorium.

KSM doing his thing

However, their screams and shouting did not dissuade KSM and so descended the stage. When KSM quizzed where he should start his experiment from, a cross section of the audience said he should start with those on the first row since that was the closest to the stage.

This time around however, KSM refused their request since that was where Her Excellency the First Lady, Lordina Mahama was sitting.

KSM said he would never use his “Hair Detector Flash Light” on the First Lady because she always keeps her natural hair and he also respects her as the First Lady of the Land. He then went around looking for whom to test with most of the ladies trying to hide from him by preventing eye contact.

He eventually landed on a lady and lo and behold, the “Hair Detector Flash Light” came on when it was tested with her hair signifying she was not wearing a synthetic hair. KSM then ascended the stage to continue revealing more “Secrets of GH Girls” with everyone laughing their heads off. As consolation for revealing the ladies secrets, KSM promised to stage another show revealing the “Secrets of GH Men” next time.

Messi's career at Barça: 13 years, 13 key moments

FC Barcelona - Messi 2018

Here's a look back at the crucial moments in Leo Messi's careers at FC Barcelona. The Argentine just extended his contract with the Club through 2018
Leo Messi, who renewed his contract through 2018, is 25 years old and he’s been with Barça for 13 years. Here's an overview of the 13 key moments in the world’s best player’s career:

- Official debut with the first team (October 16, 2004): Messi’s first match for the senior side was in La Liga in the Catalan derby played at Montjuïc. He was subbed in for Deco.

- His first goal in La Liga (May 1, 2005): Against Albacete, at the Camp Nou, Messi received an assist from Ronaldinho, the Argentine then chipped Valbuena to seal Barça’s 2-0 victory. That year Barça went on to win the first Liga title of the Rijkaard era.

- The Joan Gamper Trophy against Juventus (August 24, 2005): Even though Messi had already shown what he was capable of, his breakout match was against Capello’s Juventus in the Joan Gamper Trophy. The Argentine was simply unstoppable.

- 19-year-old Messi nets hat trick against Real Madrid (March 10, 2007): His first hat trick with the first team was against Real Madrid in the Clásico at the Camp Nou. His third goal came in the last minute of the match, his three goals secured a point for his team, who were down a man.

- Maradona-like goal against Getafe (April 18, 2007): In the semi-finals of the Cup, Messi scored a goal for the history books: he received the ball in the center of the pitch and left every defender, plus the keeper, in his wake before he fired to the back of the net. The goal is nearly identical to the one Maradona scored in the 1986 World Cup against England.

- Treble in Rome (May 27, 2009): The Argentine scored a header against Manchester United in Rome and secured the Champions League title for FC Barcelona and, at the same time, secured the Club's first ever treble: Cup, League, Champions League.

- First Ballon d’Or (December 1, 2009): After finishing third in 2007 and second in 2008, France Football named Leo Messi the best footballer of the year in 2009.

- Match-winning goal scored with his ‘heart’; Club World Cup title (December 1, 2009): Barça went on to win the only title that hadn’t graced the Catalan Club’s trophy cabinet in December of 2009. In Abu Dhabi, Barça defeated Estudiantes de La Plata in overtime thanks to a goal scored by Leo Messi. Barça went on to lift its sixth trophy in a year after the game, that team is affectionately known as the Barça of the Six Cups.

-Decisive goal in Wembley (May 28, 2011): The final of the Champions League against Manchester United was one of the most brilliant of the Pep Guardiola era. Messi scored the go-ahead goal (2-1) in the second half and the Blaugrana would go on to win the title (3-1).

- Highest goalscorer in the history of the Club (March 20, 2012): Against Granada, at the Camp Nou, Leo Messi became the highest goalscorer in the history of the Club in official matches. He broke the previous record of 232 goals set by César Rodríguez.

- 50 goals in La Liga in one season and second Golden Boot Award (May 12, 2012): The 2011/12 season ends with a jaw-dropping 50-goal tally for Messi. The Argentine, thanks to his 50 goals in the domestic competition, wins his second Golden Boot Award.

- Messi breaks Müller’s record (December 22, 2012): The Argentine scored 91 goals in 2012 and smashes Gerd Müller’s record of 85 goals scored in a calendar year (1972).

- Fourth consecutive Ballon d’Or (January 7, 2013): Messi becomes the first footballer ever to win the Ballon d’Or four times. In addition, all four awards were won consecutively.

Popular Gospel Musician Causes Arrest of Girlfriend

Ernest Opoku Jnr

Popular Ghanaian gospel musician Ernest Opoku Jnr. has caused the arrest of his girlfriend Traecy who he has reportedly been dating for five months now, in Kumasi for allegedly stealing his laptop and breaking his windscreen.

Traecy, one of the buzzing actresses and movie Producers in Kumasi who spoke to www.nydjlive.com earlier today stated she actually took Ernest Opoku’s laptop after an argument which ensued between them over what she believed to be cheating on the part of his boyfriend who had been acting funny and avoiding her lately.

"I was just going through his whatsapp messages when I saw several chats with a certain girl which made me question him. Although I was just joking from the start, it turned sour when he hit me in the eye", Traecy stated.

Treacy who was called to report at the Kumasi Central Police station was later arrested upon arrival and transferred to the Ridge police station at Ahodwo, Kumasi where she was detained until late this evening.

Ernest Opoku's girlfriend, Traecy

Traecy who narrated the incidence to www.nydjlive.com said she has admitted taking the laptop but denied having any knowledge of the breaking of Ernest Opoku’s windscreen.

Mzbel And Nana Ama McBrown Date One Guy?

Nana Ama McBrown with Maxwell
Speculations within entertainment circles of whether two superstars, actress Nana Ama McBrown and sexy saucy singer Mzbel are dating one guy are heightening.

The two superstars were reported to be dating a very handsome gentleman by name Maxwell Mensah.

This Maxwell was the same guy McBrown was involved in accident with and he is said to have a special talent for treating ladies in a romantic way.

When news went round that McBrown and her lover had been involved in a car crash, a certain Bernice Azuma, an aunt of the actress, told newsmen that Maxwell and McBrown are not lovers.

This denial from ‘aunty’ Bernice rather created more room for speculations because it aroused suspicion on why that it had to take a family relation of McBrown to tell Ghanaians who the adult actress was dating or not dating.

Both McBrown and Maxwell are not media shy. Indeed, they have publicists so it is surprising they have not had the courage to categorically explain their relationship.

It is not as though they owe any one an explanation but their silence has gone a long way in heightening the speculations.

They have been spotted together at several places having fun and doing what lovers do.

NEWS-ONE on January 1, spotted the two at the poolside of Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra around 10 pm. They left the place a little before midnight.

Mzbel with Maxwell

Mzbel, on the other hand, also remained mute when news went round that she was dating Maxwell.
He however presented himself as Mzbel’s manager and was very helpful as far as handling her publicity and media interviews were concerned. Maxwell was even responsible for the re-branding of Mzbel and ensured that negative stories about her got drastically minimized.

He was an excellent media person and just knew how to treat journalists.

He however did not confirm or deny his speculated erotic relationship with Mzbel. When Mzbel became pregnant a few months ago, Maxwell was reported as being responsible, although it has not been proven beyond doubt.

Just when NEWS-ONE was about concluding that Maxwell may have a taste for light-skinned ladies whose names start with the letter ‘M’, reports reached it that he once dated actress Vicky Zugah. Stay tuned.
