Redknapp confirms Cahill interest

Harry Redknapp has set his stall out for a busy transfer deadline day by insisting Luka Modric will not be sold and confirming his interest in Bolton defender Gary Cahill.
Modric has been one of the biggest stories of the transfer window, with Chelsea tabling a number of bids for the midfielder, but Tottenham have stood firm in the face of the interest.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has batted back all approaches to date and Redknapp has insisted that stance will not change on the final day of the window.
"There has been all the talk about Luka, but the chairman has held firm and said he is not going so that is good," Redknapp said on Sky Sports News. "That will not happen, one million per cent. It will not happen."
A player in Redknapp's sights is Bolton defender Cahill, who was the subject of a failed bid from Arsenal last week.
Bolton have maintained they will sell Cahill for the right price and it would appear Redknapp has a sniff of what fee is wanted, but he is looking to move players on first.
Redknapp said: "I have always been a big admirer of Gary Cahill, so we will have to see what happens. We will have to shift one or two out before anything can happen. We will see how the day pans out and I'm sure the chairman will be busy."
