Music trio Rana part ways?

News circulating in Ghana now is ,that music trio Rana, made up of Selasi Kofi Ocloo (Kofi), Daniel Kojo Soboh (Kojo) and Cornelius Phanthomas (Kobi), may be parting ways.

The group that was formed since their Senior High School days at the St. Augustine’s College in Cape Coast-Ghana where they performed on several campuses around the country could be no more.

When Myjoyonline.com contacted a member of the group, Kobi, he said, “Dela…please no comment,” giving an excuse that he is currently on location and will call back later. Persistent attempts to get Kobi to react to story proved futile.

It is unclear why the trio may be parting ways at a time that their latest single, Fly With Me, is enjoying massive play and heavy rotations on radio, TV and clubs across the country.

The three are University graduates with Kojo studying Computer Science at the Catholic University of Ghana, Kofi studying Agricultural Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology while Kobi studying English Language at the University of Ghana.

Commercial music for the trio began in 2004 when they approached ace Ghanaian producer and engineer Appietus Dankwa popularly known as Appietus who signed them onto his label, Creative Records.

Rana which means The Sun in Hausa released the first album No Limit under the Creative Records which had hits such as Me Luv Letter, Baby Baby and Kiss Me.

They are currently signed under Storm House Entertainment (S.H.E) and are out with Fly With Me.
