Massive Home Support For Castro In Takoradi

Castro...
Two weeks after the mysterious disappearance of popular musician Castro 'Under Fire' during a jet ski ride with a female friend in Ada, the entire nation is still shocked by the incident which has received massive media coverage as well as several high-profile reactions both locally and internationally.

One place in Ghana that has been affected the most by the incident is Castro's birthplace of Sekondi-Takoradi.

One can only admire the overwhelming love and support that residents of the twin city are showing to their icon since radio stations started broadcasting 'his death' that fateful Sunday afternoon. The whole town was shaken by the news. People abandoned their usual 'Sunday rituals'. There was total confusion. You rarely could hear loud music. Everything had come to a halt. Nothing was normal.

In the evening, many women trooped the residence of Castro's father (Mr. Eshun, popularly known as 'Coachee', who works at the Takoradi Harbour and also manages a youth football team) to console him.

The entire central business district was relatively quiet the next day with some traders attributing the unusual calmness to the Castro incident.

Since the the incident happened, die-hard fans of the musician have been criticizing some local radio stations for what they describe as unprofessional handling of the news. The radio stations who were constantly chastised for prematurely declaring Castro dead have been forced to retract the reports and apologize.

To Castro's home fans, only his dead body will confirm his death. According to them, Castro is a faithful ambassador who is down-to-earth despite his fame and success in the music industry. Castro freely supports any local musician who approaches him so almost every local artiste has a song with him.

It is clear his fans and many proteges have not lost hope. They still look forward to seeing Castro in town for a mega concert. Castro's hit joint with Sarkodie 'Adonai' as well as his singles 'Olofofo' and 'Jealousy' can be heard in almost every corner. There are also reports of some schools and churches in the metropolis conducting special prayers for the musician.

It has been a very interesting period in the history of show business in Ghana and even though the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of one of the strong pillars of contemporary Ghanaian music is yet to be uncovered, to his loyal fans in Sekondi-Takoradi, Castro is alive.

VGMA..Night of fashion and music

Photo

I didn't comment on the VGMA yesternite simply because ,
1. I didn't have 200 or 100 cedes to spend freely...
2. I went out lastnite n got home late so I missed it on TV too.

From what I have been reading on facebook, twitter and whatsapp, these are my take on the awards nite.
1) I could see one of the so called "Big Artiste" decided not to attend the program but bought as many tickets for his followers to attend the program so they will shout his name out loud to show he deserves an award...I learnt he had 3 awards though..
2)The Tema & Gh "Rap King" made an account of himself on stage by sweeping about 4 awards n performed on point.
3). I could read about the solidarity of GH gents & ladies for their beloved Micheal Jackson look- alike "Y N" by not dancing to tracks sang by an artiste from Nigeria who only wants waist of women... I heard his bro from Nigeria had all the applause and the shouts from the audience.. l mean the 'Aye' man. Big ups man 4). I must say this before l forget. l learnt there was the return of the only n truly "Madman" of our time on stage.. He was n l think is still the real mad man when it comes to stage performance. Don't forget he has seen it before..he has swept these awards in grand style some years back. l mean the "Y3k) Mma p3" fame 5. I heard there was this drama of a "Tailor" n a Big Brother Africa lady's proposal. Hmm anyway its better to repair your "used" Royce Rolls than to buy a brand new Tico. I see most of the girls updating that act and are saying the tailor is romantic. They are wishing for something like that.. Hmm my GH ladies always amuse me, for crying out loud, there are a lot of tailors around and most of these girls will turn them down when these "ade3 yie" men come to propose
6) I heard there was a miracle on stage....I learnt the program was hosted by a Police Officer alongside an "Easy" Corpse...Clay make up be what? hehe...how true was that?

I just came from #church. l need to eat so I will continue later.. But I must say it was a successful program from the tweets, facebook timeline n whatsapp messages I read. I saved GHC 200 but hey l can't escape the 50pesewas Vodafone will deduct from my account for posting this small amateur piece.

Guru To Face Charges For ‘Stealing’ Hit Song, Boys Abr3?

Guru
According to reports, rapper Guru may face legal action for using the beat on his hit single “Boys Abr3 (Akayida)” which originally belongs to a Kumasi based artist Yung C now known as Akwasi Cute.

Akwasi Cute who appeared on the Angel Entertainment Show over the weekend stated that although Guru had told him of his desire to use his instrumental in passing, no official communication or procedure was taken and he was shocked to hear the song was already being played even before Guru had sought his consent.

Akwasi Cute who intends to take legal action against Guru explained that efforts to reach Guru to try and settle the issue amicably had been futile as Guru had barred his calls and even refused to talk to him whilst shooting the video to song in Kumasi. He admitted that Guru mentioned his name in the song, but said that was however not good enough as there had been a copyright infringement.

5 Qualities Men Look For In A Wife

When it comes to relationships, there are five personality traits men look for in a lifelong partner.

The supporter: ”She stays with you through thick and thin. Life is difficult and there will be challenges for everyone. It’s important a woman can support her man through the hard times, because there will be some.”

The lover: ”She’s affectionate. She’s eager to please in bed. She is a passionate person in general. She’ll tell you how much she loves you.”

The saver: ”She’s conscious of saving vs. spending. She puts money away for things like vacations, home renovations, the kids. She is not going to blow through your income on materialistic items.”

The worker: ”She overcomes obstacles. She has a great work ethic, whether it’s at her job, at the gym or as the president of the PTA. She applies herself to challenges and doesn’t give up.”

The winner: ”She goes big or goes home and succeeds at what she sets her mind to.”

Men and coloured pants

shade of colours

There is so much colour around us because fashion has become very colour conscious. Colorful bags, nail polish, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, clutches, shoes, tops, skirts, pants and anything fashionable you can think about.

Despite this splash of colour all around us, women are mostly spotted wearing so much colour whereas most guys are stuck onto the primary colours in fashion.

Coloured pants for men are in vogue now and guys look cute and fashionable in them. Sadly, only the young guys in school and those in the creative industry are hooked onto it.

Some men are of the opinion that it is too youthful and one may come across as not serious minded. In as much as I agree coloured pants cannot be worn in a corporate environment, it can be worn out of the office; an outing with friends and family or other social events requiring casual clothing.

You are not trying to relive your youth if you wear coloured pants; it’s fashion, it’s in vogue and if worn right, you are good to go and no negative impressions will be made about you.

Wearing coloured pants can give some extra pop to an outfit and help any man get noticed for the right reasons.

However, to every fashion accessory, there is or are some rules.

Do not combine bright coloured shirts and pants. Subtly wear one bright piece as your focal point and use neutral tones as your backdrop.

Porn Movies Invade Tema Station

When I say the only law in enforcement in Ghana is the inability of males to use the washroom of ladies, my comments are deemed harsh.

It has been an open secret over the years that the sale of pornographic materials is still rampant in Ghana. Out of every two Malians, Nigerians or Burkinabe with their bags at their back plying their trade in the sales of movies in Ghana, you will not be surprised to note that they are illicitly selling pirated movies with pornographic movies dominating.

Although I’m not in support of their trade and condemn their actions, I must say their actions in some way must be commended. In the first instance, they are eradicating the early exposure of pornographic materials to reach the young and under-aged of school going age. Secondly, they make it available to the privileged few who would want to have them to spice their sex life.

I know the laws of Ghana prohibits the sales of pornographic materials and its open display, but I must say the enforcers of the law are either sleeping or getting paid by the tax payer for no job done. Recent visits to the Accra-Tema station made some shocking revelations. In the full glare of both the young and adults who troop to the market for various reasons were the open display of the sale of pornographic films.

Whiles some had titles such as “mapouka”, “wild girls’ game” and “soft daddies”, others bore no titles with just the display of busty and plump looking women exposing their breasts and sex organs. To my amazement, the seller who was auctioning the CD sales had a bell and was vocally drawing the attention of on lookers. Amazingly, police personnel who were passing by were smiling to his trade antics instead of enforcing the law.

My question to authorities whose duties are to see to the enforcement of these laws after its enactment is, “what exactly is their duty pertaining to these criminal offences”? Are they only to sit in their air-conditioned offices and drive in fuel guzzling cars to get paid at the end of the month? It’s very pathetic to see music and movie pirates get many years of jail sentences for pirating intellectual properties of others whereas the deeds of others which cripplesand corrupt societal morals are seen as “holy”.

Who isn't a video or audio pirate in one form or the other? Are all the music played in our cars and videos watched in our homes the original copies? Here lies the scenario, where all of us fall culprits, why single out the few culprits whereas those porn selling marketers get “praised” for their deeds.

Playing the devil’s advocate, I will pretend the attention of authorities to nib these acts in the bud have not been drawn to this. I will therefore make the humble appeal to the authorities to troop to the Accra-Tema station as soon as possible and arrest this situation before it escalates. I understand the saying that “A MAN MUST EAT” but a man must not eat at the detriment of others. If such be the scenario, then crime will be made legal and the earth will perish.

New York Ladies Free To Walk Half Naked

The City’s 34,000 police officers have been instructed that, should they encounter a woman in public who is shirtless but obeying the law, they should not arrest her.

This decision means that breast exposure is not considered public lewdness, indecent exposure, or disorderly conduct. It also notes that, should a crowd form around a topless woman, the officer should instruct the crowd to disperse and then respond appropriately if it does not. Relative coverage is no longer a factor.

This policy shift comes after several years of litigation and protest. In the 1992 case People v. Ramona Santorelli and Mary Lou Schloss, the New York Court of Appeals ruled in favor of two women who were arrested with five others for exposing their breasts in a Rochester park, holding the law void as discriminatory. The ruling was put to the test in 2005, when Jill Coccaro bared her breasts on Delancey Street in New York, citing the 1992 decision, and was detained for twelve hours. She subsequently successfully sued the city for $29,000.

In 2007, Go Topless, a national organization supporting gender equality in shirtlessness laws, established Go Topless Day.

Dozens of women protest – often topless – in thirty cities around the United States, promoting equal rights to be shirtless. Protests usually include chants of “Free your breasts. Free your minds” and a song “Let ‘em Breathe” to the tune of the Beatles’ “Let it Be.”

While some who have witnessed these events have suggested that "[t]his is extreme liberalism and why America’s in decline” or “[i]t’s degrading to women,” others have been supportive. One man even said he would encourage his wife to join them.

Though bare-breasted women might shock the sensibilities of some in the public, it is encouraging to see the police responding positively to gender bias, even on such a seemingly small scale. After all, no one thinks twice about a man shirtless on a summer day. However, the female nipple or chest is still considered “lewd.” By reminding its officers of this, the NYPD is publicly declaring that it will no longer perpetuate unconstitutional gender discrimination, a standard to which all law enforcement should be held and a decision for which it should be applauded.

How To Be A Really Good Kisser

Sensual, sexy lip-to-lip is a lost art for many of us who find ourselves face-to-face with a new amour. And I'd put money on it that jaded pros of French kissing could stand to refine their technique.

So let's get right down to the essentials of what will add a French flavor to your lips:

The Timing
The best lovers of the world (who, by the way, are rarely French) are masters of timing. They know how to milk the yearning by barely brushing their lips against yours, and they know precisely when to go in, full-throttled, for the kill. While sense of timing may be a genetically inherited trait shared among musicians, comedians and successful stockbrokers, one can learn the basics by paying close attention your partner's breathing. If he is panting and breathless, experiment with Exhibit A below.

Exhibit A(The Lusty French Kiss)
This kiss needs no warm-up. You want your partner and your partner wants you, as evidenced by your collective, animal-like panting. Your tongue is already in his mouth before you realize that you're kissing. But now what? Slowly -- and I mean slowly -- roll your tongue in circles around your partner's. Thrust shallow, thrust deep. Then circle again. Tilt your head to the other side, and repeat. Playfully bite his lower lip, then lick his lips. Try different variations of the above. The combinations are endless.

If your date has calm and predictable inhalations, give Exhibit B a shot.

Exhibit B (The Coy French Kiss)
This kiss needs coaxing, as evident by your partner's mellow breathing. Start with his lips. With the tip of your tongue lick his top lip, then kiss him softly, no tongue. Next, taste his lower lip, then brush both your lips back and forth, and up and down his. Gaze seductively into your partner's eyes -- eye contact usually helps rev up the respiratory system. Next, add a little panting and moaning to your efforts. Finally, ease your tongue between his lips, slipping in and out. Continue in this coy manner until you reach the point where the lusty French kiss takes over (see above). Then alternate between the coy and lusty kisses. You see, variety and surprise are what ultimately make a French kiss more than just a kiss.

The Mechanics
The first rule of French kissing is that every woman has her own style. This style evolves out of a combination of your mouth's unique anatomy, including the length of your tongue and how far your jaw will open, as well as your level of sexual aggression and personal tastes. Regardless, the mechanics are all the same: Tilt your head to one side, part your lips, slip your tongue into your mate's parting lips, then explore what's inside. Breathe through your nose (or your mouth if your nose is stuffy). Once you've got the basic mechanics down, it's time to experiment with technique.

More People Look for Julie Juu

Juli Juu
Popular television actress, Julie Juu (real name Abena Achiaa) of GTV Cantata fame may have been bluffing when she told Showbiz on phone ten days ago that she was available and the police or anyone who was looking for her could find her.

The real situation, however, is that the Akan Drama actress is nowhere to be found even when other victims have showed up since the Showbiz publication in which two people claimed that she had swindled them of Gh¢13,500 after she had promised to secure UK visas for them.

Julie Juu told Showbiz that it was not true the police was after her and that she had not received any call from the police. “Why would I not honour an invitation by the police if indeed they are looking for me?”, she said.

Yet the new victims, Rhoda Sekyi and Doris Sekyi, who are sisters, told Showbiz last Tuesday that they paid Gh¢ 8,000 to Julie Juu in February last year to get them visas to Germany.

“ We made the payment to Julie Juu at her home at Lapaz in Accra but since then she is nowhere to be found although we have reported the case to the police” the two sisters said.

A police officer at the Lapaz Police Station where the case was reported confirmed that they were looking for Julie Juu to answer questions, the same way as the Cantonments police told Showbiz they way doing with regard to the first complaint.

Rhoda and Doris Sekyi said if Juu Julie has decided not to pay their money she could keep it but what they need most now are their passports, marriage and birth certificates which Julie Juu took from them.

EXCLUSIVE PHOTOS: Meet The 'Hottest' Minister of Our Time!

Hot, young and sexy, Victoria Lakshmi Hammah will indeed do a lot of communication with her body

She is naturally-endowed from hair to toe, and has the kind of body you would call “huge”.

Victoria Lakshmi Hammah, the deputy minister designate for Communications, was among the last batch of deputy ministers released by President John Mahama on Tuesday March 26 2013.

Her nomination has come under strict scrutiny from persons who think she simply ‘ doesn't have it’ – whatever that means. What we do know however is that, she has ‘it’. Yes, she has the kind of looks that should spice up an otherwise dull state institution.

Hammah contested and lost the Ablekuma West Constituency seat to the NPP’s Ursula Owusu in last year’s elections. True to predictions, she’s been handed a ministerial position.

Hot, young and sexy Victoria who is a graduate of University of Ghana has been in the media for quite some time now.

She hosted a late night relationship and sex program “Real Talk” on TV3 and also hosted a similar program “Chocolate Factory” which aired on Cine Afrik and Hitz TV on the Multi-TV.

The yet to be approved deputy minister of Communications is also the Executive Director of Progressive Organization for Women's Advancement (POWA), a non-governmental organization made up of a network of Public Spirited Youth committed to the advancement of Women’s Right as a link to other broader Social Justice Causes.

Yes! I’m Pregnant & Enjoying With My Newly-Wedded Husband - Actress Emelia Brobbey

Emelia Brobbey

Popular actress, Emelia Brobbey would talk about anything and everything but hardly about her marriage which is always an out-of-bounds subject. “My marriage is very private and I intend to keep it as such”, she told Showbiz over the phone last weekend from her UK home.

“Some celebrities may be comfortable speaking publicly about their marriages but that is not me. I see marriage as a sacred thing which shouldn’t be in the public domain”.

Emelia was responding to media reports that accused her of infidelity and claimed that she was pregnant for another man who was not her husband.

Emelia told Showbiz that she would have preferred not to talk about the false report but for the wrong impression that may have been created by it.

Although Emelia confirmed that she was pregnant, she said she was pregnant for her husband she got married to not quite long ago.

“I divorced my former husband a little over one year ago after I found out that things were not working well for us. I asked for a divorce from my ex when I found out that he had three children without my knowledge.

“I got married to him without knowing he had kids and after I found out I said there was no way I could stay with such a man, I filed for a divorce and it was granted” Emelia explained to Showbiz.

Emelia Brobbey regretted the timing of the false publication as she is now enjoying a new life with her newly wedded husband. “How would my husband feel reading from a newspaper and on the Internet that his wife’s pregnancy was for another man?”

Emelia started acting in 2002 with the help of Daniel Adeley who introduced her to Miracle Films production for her first movie role in Tribal War.

Despite the fact that the role was a minor one, she took it and it served as a stepping stone to bigger ones.

Currently she has featured in over 50 movies which are a mix of Twi and English. They include War of Roses, Tribal War, Wo Nyamesom Mpo Ni, Hidden Passions, Blackmail, Afunumuba, Aku Sika, Ama Ghana, Sika Ye Abrantie, Obiyaa and Whose Fault.

Emelia had two nominations in the 2010 Ghana Movie Awards for Best Actress in Leading Role ( Local Language) and Most Favourite Actress categories alongside others such as Jackie Appiah, Yvonne Nelson, Nana Ama Mcbrown and Rose Mensah popularly known as Kyeiwa.

Besides acting, Emelia has sterling teaching credentials. She trained and obtained a Teachers Certificate ‘A’ at the Kibi Presbyterian Training College and taught at Obuasi JSS complex, Martin Luther King School in Kumasi and Soul Clinic International School in Accra.

She also holds a Diploma in Journalism from Manifold Tutorial College and a Degree in Human Resource Management from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
